So, I want to get into voice acting, but I'm not sure how to get started. What program should I use to record my voice? When I make a voice reel, how long should it be? What sort of microphone is best suited for making a voice reel? Any other tips? Please help!

Now i'm no voice actor but a good start up program would be Audacity.
It's free so go download it!

Thanks for the reply. I think I've used it before at school but I didn't know it was free. Does it create mp3 files? The audio portal only runs mp3.

Ok, first, you need to learn a little bit about computer stuff, about audio files (what's wav, mp3, compressed format, bit rate...etc) and to know your hardware (soundcard, microphones, dynamic/ condenser) not too much but just enough to keep you going.

Then you need a microphone, a program to record and from there all that makes the difference is practice :)

Awesome, thanks! I actually watched that video earlier today and found it to be extremely informative. I appreciate your help.

If you want Mp3 encoding with Audacity, be sure to download Lame.dll to your computer. Audacity needs it for the encoding, and it's also free.

Need some music for a flash or game? Check it out. If none of this works send me a PM, I'm taking requests.
