Will there eventually be a system in place for regular users to upload HTML5 projects without the invite system?

I would assume the inclusion of HTML5 makes it possible to phish directly from the website, but will it be possible to build a system to "cage" each HTML5 entry so this powerful new architecture can be used by the entire community?

If that happens, will you allow people to call up flash games within HTML5 entries?

Thanks.

I never understood that point. I mean, maybe HTML5 can make interactive content -- it may be better than flash for web design. However, you can't make a full fledged cartoon with HTML. Or as far as I know, there's no application called HTML that allows you to draw frames and whatnot.

If HTML5 cuts into the business of flash's web design, then they can simply target the animators and, to an extent, game designers who use it more.

I'm sure they could even adapt flash for HTML5 output or integrate it. But I'm far from a coder so I probably have very minimal knowledge of that sector of it. I'm just an animator.

That one just uses an HTML5 frame. It's still a flash game.

God damn, exactly! I've seen some serious crap, and that is some premium grade manure. It has to be some sort of sponsorship deal, otherwise I'd be convinced the world is going mad.

It was made by the ad company - it was a value add for a big campaign they are doing on the site. A campaign that will let me get the tank trophies made finally. :P

That's good. I understand, I'd probably do the same thing.

Well using HTML5 is awesome now. But sadly, I won't be able to carve my own pumpkin this year.

"Arrow" should receive an honorary tank trophy for funding the tank trophies.

I tried to use this stencil last year to make a Wade & Bedn 'o' Lantern. I never got around to doing it but if anyone does I'll be sure to send them a $5 Amazon gift card.

I love the pumpkin carving! Even though I'm terrible at it myself, it's always cool to see what new designs other users come up with.

Tom here from Scirra!

We're very excited that some of the first HTML5 games on Newgrounds were made in Construct 2. Hopefully we will be seeing a lot more games filtering through to NG. If anyone has any questions about Construct 2 I'm happy to answer them for you!

HTML5 is useless for animation. Not to mention to actually have graphics in it, you have to import images of what you want. Tedious as fuck.

HTML5? That's a big Fing Deal!

Seriously, even if you have troubles translating existing projects into a format iDevices can read, you can in theory create a special portal for HTML5 games and movies compatible with those devices! Done properly, and this could be the best thing to happen to Newgrounds since I showed up!

That last comment was a joke. Please don't take it seriously.

I wouldn't mind flash becoming a fossil piece of software like it's previous program 'director' if I felt there was worthy replacements and adobe were at least working their hardest on it... they seem to have gone a bit slacker imo =/

It seems like there are just an infinite number of contests and programs we use to create games. There have been so many of them, I've simply lost track. I still always try to look at all the latest stuff we have in terms of categories. It's too bad it's a tad hard for me to even tell how it's different than the other stuff. I've played so many games here, I'm always looking for uniqueness.

Hey, I keep getting messages that say "You're not sending this from Newgrounds, are you?" Yes. Yes I am. I'm just doing it from a mac. I've tried creating exceptions for NoScript, using Firefox and Safari, nothing works. Does Newgrounds only work with Windows or what? Which specific security settings do you want me to disable?

I should note the all the CONTENT on Newgrounds still works, and for that I'm extremely grateful. But I was planning to start using the social tools more soon, so... yeah, I need those to start working again if at all possible.
