Have any of you ever been there?

The deep web are websites, usually with dark purposes, that cannot be found in other websites links of conventional web browsers. The sites in this realm are usually only accessible with a special browser and by knowing the hoops to jump through. I have been there in some of the directories myself, but if you want to go there yourself you will have to search and find out how because I am not going to tell you.

Be wary of going there. It took me a few months to get enough nuts to delve into it. Things I saw were legit hitmen websites, and there was this warehouse where actual doctors kidnapped homeless people and did experiments on them. I decided I have seen enough before I get into shit I REALLY did not want to see and don't plan on going back.

estimated 90% of all internet is the deep web. mind = blown

I wouldn't want to go on there, I heard there's tons of CP on there.

I explored it heavily about a year ago. Without bitcoins, there doesn't seem to be very much of interest to find on the deep web, but that's what's so cool about it I guess, is that finding anything interesting actually requires a lot of looking, as opposed to just Googling whatever you're looking for. I would have kept looking if it wasn't for all the CP that seems to be the Deep Web's main purpose. That, and drugs. Which is another cool thing about the deep web; anywhere on the "normal" internet, if you saw a site like Silk Road, or an advertisement page for a hitman, you would immediately write it off as fake. Not on the deep web though!

It made more sense in my head.

Except it probably was fake. What's stopping someone from creating a fake page?

Silk Road is definitely not fake. As for the hitmen pages, there's nothing really stopping anyone from creating a fake page, but it just doesn't seem likely that someone would set up a bitcoin account and anonymous email account just to make a fake page. Plus, the only pages that are easy to find are ones that are listed in directories, which are generally kept free from fake or broken links.

The TOR network is a lot different than surface web. The lack of censorship, the complete anonymity, and the anonymous currency system, all make it more believable for something like a hitman page to actually be legitimate.

It made more sense in my head.

I'm never going to the deep web again after watching a video of a guy get his head chainsawed off, while another guy got his slowly sawed off with a knife.

I like that picture though.

I think you just stumbled across a shock video. You can find them on a google search.

Oh. I thought that videos like that were considered being in the "deep web".

I have absolutely no interest in anything that's supposedly on the deep web. To me, even the idea of such places is legitimately scary.

I've browsed it for ages, as long as you encrypt your traffic well, everything works fine. Even if you're technologically incompetent, the browser can be set up to make sure that very little information about your browsing could be found out, even if you were to go to some of the more "criminal" things on the deep web.

The worst things I've found so far are:

1) Bugchasing sites for gay people who want to be infected with HIV
2) A bestiality story site

However, I did find a site where a bunch of women were swapping adultery stories, which was kind of relieving awkward to view. Essentially, the deep web is like the surface web on crack.

I wouldn't expect middle aged women to be browsing the deep web lol.
