well i finished my first entry. it's built from a previous test.
i gave it a black fade in and a white fade out so it can fit somewhere between 2 other submissions.
this 20FPS thing is kinda fucked, it's near impossible to get the timing right.
anyhow, i'm making excuses

@Arkcez: But i think it is necessary because now i have to now go and open the fla then export it to an swf; just to see what it looks like. I like the animation and the spooky feel but please remove the sound. In the background could you add some more tomb stones and make them a little darker or add some creepy trees. And lastly everything is very centered, try moving the moon off to one side. But good work :]

@Jurgen: Haha it looks like a scene from the movie "Alien," process work looks great. What's the background going to look like?

@itsthacon: It looks cool, Just a suggestion could you maybe add some movement {scrolling blips or moving writing} on the small television screens :]

@Max-Vador: Welcome and your animation looks awesome. The timing and the roll of the first skull is perfect. I see you added a slight white dust and shadow to this skull which gives it depth. If its not to much work maybe apply the same effect to the other skulls... Lastly nice finishing touch making the skull tumble towards the viewer, hope to see more soon :]

the other skulls are just 2 modified graphics so a shadow won't be a problem. glad you like it.

i changed it from blackfade to white in the beginning. so it's white in white out. more versatile. working on another one now, you should like this one a little more

I didn't think we'd be getting requests ha but yeah I can do that, I only just saw that the due date is ages away so all good.

I think so far this one is looking to be a lot better than the previous one if you ask me.

Done. I think if I did anything more to it it would look too busy and distracting.

Yeah i agree with you that it would become to busy but those small little tweaks to the screens are great. I especially like the realism of the top left screen.

@Arkcez: Thanks mate, no worries they were just small points that you could improve on. Regardless if it was an old or new animation. Hope to see some more work

Welcome robbe, i like the depth and perspective changes in your animation and i know it is still rough but the end explosion is a little confusing. I enjoyed it and wait to see a more refined version :]

Hey guys, so I got exams coming up, so I have to study -____-;
So, I decided to work on the animation while I can.

WELP, I'll continue this in the Summer break after I finish my exams! :)

You can see the progress here.

Improvements planned:
- Shading/Highlights
- Shadows
- Smoke effects
- Improve blood effects
- Background
- Fix the 'swerving' leg on lower body scene
- Fix jittery body/hair on the head impact scene

List of updates:
1. Development
2. Refinement - Colour

Yeah, the explosion is just a placeholder :P, I didn't know how to end it (yet).

Yeah, I'll do that.

Awesome, thanks!

Unfortunately a lot of my schoolwork is starting to catch up on me, although I should still be able to make something decent by January 30. I'm still brainstorming ideas, though, so hopefully when i do get the time I can dive right into making it.

I would like to join, just need to nut some other shit out, working on a paid project at the moment so maybe will have an idea for it in a few weeks, if the deadline changes again I might not be in, but that's still ages away at the moment so will come back to this soon with the start of something :D

nat29: Thank you for the helping, to convert files down. Much appreciated

VaguelyWonderful: Hello and welcome back to another amazing collab :]

houzatosis: Education takes preference but thanks for keeping us in the loop of your status and your progression. Even if you are able to get something rough done send us the link

Eddie-John: That is awesome news, it is always great to get paid for animating :] The deadline is set for the 30th Jan 2013. Hope to see some roughs over the next few weeks

i'm done with this one. it's getting too busy

if i do more than one i'll compile in one FLA, then pass it off to be converted down from CS6

update:

i'm actually a LOT happier with this version:
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/c998c5e0e219151a888aa10a 79a2c7ed

but you said to stay away from filters. i jut think they add so much, like here the force of the impact is seen in the vertical blur.

let me know which is preferred

I don't think zeebrafication is saying you are banned from the use of such effects, rather, I believe he means that you should try not to resort to those tools. In other words, I think he would like us to try to put the extra effort in to recreate these effects through frame-by-frame animation. Love your animation btw <3 :)

I completely agree with ShinsukeIto, i have seen way to many animations bombarded with effects and little effort put into the actual animated motion. Additionally these effects require a higher cpu usage and may cause choppyness when viewing.

@Max-Vador: They both look amazing :] but yes the second one with the blur effect, does look extra special. And the shading helped a lot. Nice work!!

i'll step all the blurs down to medium quality, there's no significant distinction between med and high in a matter of 2 frames and it'll save some CPU load.

that part is done, i'm working on another one, this one features animals :]

Can we create 2 parts?
A good one for the main animation
and a slightly worse one for the âEUoeextraâEU section

i'm guessing so. i'm making 2 or 3 and the 4th collab had people make multiple parts

but it would be better if you made 2 AWESOME parts and put them in though :D

Hey guys, I made a second (still rough version), which one is better?
version one
Version two

(I don't know if the slooowmoootiooon is clear enough in the second version)

I like the second version more, especially the small effects when the ball leaves the guys hand look cool. In my opinion, the first version has to much happening in 60frames of animation and could be confusing to the viewer.
