I saw that title this morning, natural selection.
Also great thread, you gave your opinions brilliantly and opened the way for mass discussion. I don't need to say I am being sarcastic but as you are somehow likely to actually believe I meant it I best make sure.

I think the thread title speaks for itself.

Feel free to explain how eating insects and then dying is natural selection. You would be surprised how many people eat bugs. I just can't comprehend this statement.

Another ludicrous statement. There is plenty room for discussion here, just in how I am responding to you. Just stop breathing, your comments are brainless and unwarranted.

The cockroaches were probably externally unsanitary to cause this guy to react so terribly. Albeit it's not a very smart idea to feast on some cockroaches, but their bodies themselves are just...meat, there's nothing internally toxic about them.

it was not due to contamination because it happened too quickly. it takes more than a couple of hours for an infection to be fatal. could be an allergic reaction, or heart attack.
why would people want to eat cockroaches anyway? it is not even fun to watch.
28/12/14 - the last day I made sense.
31/12/14 - left the forums permanently.

Apparently some people have a roach allergy so that's probably what killed him so quickly.
Roaches themselves are actually very healthy to eat, like most insects. I wouldn't eat a live one though.

I thought it was going to be something disgusting, like he eat them so quickly that they eat his stomach from the inside causing the stomach acid to burst out and pour onto his other organs.
maybe if he some liquid nitrogen so his stomach froze like what happen to some girl here in england, he may have survived.
with no stomach and on a special diet for the rest of his life, but alive than the less.

They were roaches not chestbursters lol. I doubt the death was even related to the contest.

Wait I thought roaches were naturally filthy creatures. But this article states otherwise.

Ironically, roaches in your house are usually dirty because they've been exposed to human waste and rotting food.
People make roaches dirty.

I love how the article comes out before any definite observations could be completed.
"In other news, a man has suddenly collapsed on the street and died. A cause of death is not confirmed, so why couldn't we wait until it was confirmed? Publicity, of course!"
Even the most righteous, logically sound individuals are subject to poor reasoning skills and deluded mindsets.

He probably died of something unrelated. Even though roaches are disgusting creatures there is no toxic gland in them to make you sick.

Dude I don't even care. I mean, eating a load of cockroaches for a competition? its idiotic just as much as it is disgusting.

Why? It's not unhealthy, just taboo. They were clean feeder insects.
No matter what you think saying that you want them to die is a bit extreme and out of character since you usually show a lot of sympathy for people.
