Same here. Sure the first game I ever played was from the NES era, but hell I think I didn't played through a single game.

Sometime before 2000 but after 1997 (aka the release date), I remember beating Star Fox 64 along with my brother. If I beat a game before then, my memory is far to hazy to remember that far back, so I assume that I saved the Lylat System before beating any other game.

My memory of the early '90s is kinda fuzzy...

Either I beat Super Mario Bros (using warp zones) or the shareware version of Doom.

Or there may be some other, perhaps earlier, games. I just don't remember.

Not too sure exactly, but it would have either been Dragon Spirit or Blades of Steel (both NES)

I wanna say Yoshi's Story on the N64. That game was pretty easy if you just wanted to race through towards the credits.

I think it was the Game Boy Advance version of Super Mario World. That was when I was 4 or 5 in 2002 or 2003.

Never, ever beat games when I was younger. I always just replayed the first couple levels of games. The first one I have a memory of completing from start to finish is ColdWinter on PS2. That came out in 2005...

Super Mario 64 has to be one of my earliest, but I'm pretty sure Pokemon Red is the first game I have ever beaten. I owned some Gameboy games before that one, but I could never get to beating them. Mostly because I just didn't have the patience, but also because I just wasn't very good at games back then.

Toy Story on the Mega Drive. It had frustrating moments but I eventually beat it and felt glad I did it. It may have been a movie-based game but it actually wasn't that bad.

Really? How the hell did you beat that game I got up to Sid's room eventually and that just got ridiculously hard for me when I was younger and I could never finish the game. I do agree it was awesome though.

I'm not sure what mine is, the games I recall completing on my consoles when I was younger earliest would be Sonic 2 or 3, Ristar, Starwing and Super Mario World, for the Amiga I really wouldn't be able to say which was earliest I used to play games loads on that and some were short. I loved Simon the Sorcerer and Monkey Island etc. and I watched my brothers complete them to know what to do. Sadly I can't recall which came first.

I never actually beat games much when I was young, I tended to fail and accept defeat thinking "Well I got as far as I could, will try again later" and indeed I did try again later, I used to love games despite hardly beating any of them (as I sucked at games even more than I do now), sadly these days it seems we all HAVE to beat games, yet I really don't recall thinking that way when younger, I wish we still felt more like that now.

The third boss was ridiculous enough. It took a lot of frustration and some broken controllers just to beat the damn game.

Without cheating probably one of the Spyro games or Jade Empire. I used to cheat in every game I played until the 360 came out and most games stopped having cheat codes.
