to get rid of the Department of Education is so that they can teach Creationism to our children.

In all honesty that would be an improvement on the failed education system that is in America.

If you honestly believe that, you probably have the IQ of a banana.

Not only no, but hell no. I really don't think that real Libertarians would want to teach creationism in public schools any more than wanting more bureaucratic red tape, or putting alcohol and tobacco in the same status as pot and cocaine.
If you want to learn about creationism, then go to Sunday School or a private Christian academy.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Which "Libertarians" are you speaking of? The Libertarian party or Libertarians in general?
Libertarians in general (well, at least in theory) are just as opposed to social control via government as they are of economic, regardless of direction.
The Libertarian Party, on the other hand, is known to be quite socially conservative and is not afraid to speak out on the point. I would not be surprised at all if they actually wanted to do away with government control so that they could force feed religious junk science to impressionable little minds.

What does Christianity have to do with anything. Ones chosen faith should be as private as ones underwear.

This. Thank you for putting my thoughts on the matter so eloquently.

No, we want to get rid of the DoE, because in recent years it has taken a downward spiral towards being an inefficient money pit. No Child Left Behind is a huge failure.
There's no reason to have a federal oversee-er of education. States can do it just fine on their own.
FWIW, Libertarians don't really through their hat into religious dealings.

Religion (or lack of, btw, libertarians, politicians anyway, are not atheist), is the only difference you see between a republican and a libertarian :S

No that's OK as I have no want or need to bring in the "Fascist Utopia" that many of them delusionals speak of with there palms pointed toward the sky. Perhaps I should just read the definition of "creationism" as I really have just a tiny grasp on just what it exactly is but I know the consumerist morons that are being produced in society today by the public school system are most likely just as terrible for the potential future of true freedom.

Defend. Especially considering that their official platform says that the government should be left out of issues such as abortion and gay marriage...and let individuals determine their own lifestyle. Furthermore, there is an inherient logical flaw in your conclusion: in the absence of government control; how would Libertarians 'force feed' anything to students?

If you look back at history and see the country's that became a theocracy you can see that is not true. In every case science and education are slowed down if not stopped altogether.
PS. leanlifter1 do you actually care about these issues or do you just like to complain. Because you never give insightful info or make interesting points.

Seems like a personal sentiment & opinion for the leanlifter1 thread.
