What a tumultuous tango, the waltz too slow, the cha cha too quick, we tango at a pace of our own. Such complexity, yet simplicity in an endless array of unexpected yet anticipated movement; I step, she steps, I dip and she twirls, no plan, no forethought, just dance, hand in hand, step by step, only wondering when the music will stop. Is it wrong to want the music to play forever? Is it mere wishful thinking or perhaps childish ignorance that ignites such fancy? Of course I knew the poison before I swallowed it, I put on the record that began the dance that I dare not break, it is nothing but my own fault, yet I can not help myself, perhaps drawn to find where the inevitable will end or when I might trip on my own feet or she simply tires of such monotony and stops the record before the crescendo has a chance to climax. Where or when this is, I do not know, I know not much for one who is dancing forever has no conception of future or fate, just the movement of feet and the sounds of some melancholy violin feigning joy.
It is a beautiful dance, as I have always thought, too beautiful for one to speculate on, but actually danced, as all dances should be; If by some divine intervention or some marvelous stroke of luck, that this dance may last forever, I doubt I would ask for much more of life.
