I dig that to a pretty high degree
Sick work man, keep it up

Thanks very much man!
old animations put in a gif because they're going in my portfolio for an animation course right now. I don't know if they're good enough, but I'd like it if you guys could reassure me or confirm my doubts, either way is fine!

Look at those floppy fingers
90 second hand studies
(give or take slightly)
sorry these aren't floppy, jonny
my hand, and then the inside of it. this is in charcoal except possibly the insidey bits I think
I hate doing sketchbook, until I actually do it
fuck my brain
like skullz and shit AREN'T I FUCKING DEEP
nah it's relevant anatomical studies freehand 4 lyf
did some hands with no references, what do people notice I need to pick up on?
I drew my hand whilst watching the walking dead because it's really really boring but I feel so obliged to carry on
this is a technique I continued after life drawing where we were told to use colour pencils and I just don't know what the fuck I'm doing any of the time
Did some acrylic painting for the first time in a long time! Here's the colour keys I tried to do before starting any proper painting, these are like the size of a thumb. What do more accomplished painters think? I really want to learn more about painting
Self portrait for the project titled 'I AM' which I just wrapped up today
First sketchbook pages for the Final Major Project
it's all about vikings and magic and shit
Some more work on this character in my sketchbook I guess
anyone got any crits? I really would love to be slated a bit, and maybe given some help on making interesting poses from my head. Maybe I should've made him less chibi, but he's meant to be a kid.
how do you do child-like eyes without doing god damn animuuuu
Trying to finalise some character stuff in my sketchbook
any crit would be golden, my course is graded on this project alone!
shifting from character into environments
more of the current shenanigans I guess
these pages feel more and more arbitrary
I made a model of the character I've been working on, so it's been a little while. Sadly in all that while all I've done, sketchbook wise, is this weird double page spread that totally doesn't fit the rest of my sketchbook but fuck it.
Here's not shitty under-200k-res but it doesn't change much I guess
Expect more vikings and pictures of my clay sculpt!
Don't worry I've got some final pieces coming
you are a cultural icon
but in all seriousness, your drawings just get better and better man. i would love to see some flash with your art in it, those character designs would work nicely for a flash character
MrPercie on Dromedary: "smug santa claus face, bringing nicieties to those he likes but shite to those he hates - which is everyone"

These characters look very charming - are you going to make an animation out of them?

Thankful man, this means a lot to hear!

Cheers! Well it's funny you both say these things because that's exactly what I'm building up to! I've got my short story all planned out. It's about a boy who puts a bike helmet on and turns into a viking... more to come.
Trying to do a paint-up on photoshop of my sketch but I'm struggling basically with technique - I just don't know if I'm going the right way about anything. All I know is pen and pencil. :( Should I block stuff out then paint over? How dark should I do my shadows before mixing them, or is it best to just build up? Oh lord I just don't know
Okay I know it sucks when people do tiny updates, but I'm at the top of the first page anyway after half an hour.
I've discovered some things! Multiply layers and soft brushes. Are there any other amazing things like this? Gonna be some trial-and-error beard-making soon, haha.
I really like your sketch book art. I loved reading the notes. It's pretty rad to be able to read about the methods and process you use when drawings. Many sketchbooks just have some bullshit written in them (like mine lol) , I dig that you put actual useful information on it. I would love to see more of that

Multiply layers are a great discovery for shading. Screen layers are also really good for highlights. Personally, when I have all the basic shading and highlights blocked in, I like to drop all of the layers back down to the canvas because I'm kind of the same way. I'm more comfortable working with traditional media, so it's just easier to wrap my head around it when I'm working from the one layer.
But yeah, all your work so far has really been coming along great. I love all your concepts for your upcoming animation. Hopefully we'll get to see it here. :)
Taking a shot in the dark here, but could this guy possibly be an inspiration for these characters faces?

Thanks man. I've only this project gotten into sketchbooks, and for the same reason as you that it's so nice to see how other people tick over. It's a good reminder to not be scared of never achieving high-level finished work, because of course there's a process towards everything!

Thanks man. I'm the same; it's all one one layer and it never really got to more than 3 (incl. background). Anyway I think it's time to move away from this.

Haha someone else said this to me, but it really wasn't at all. Maybe subconsciously on some level. I thought I was inventing a new face but clearly not. :(
Anyway here's the one I'm leaving as is. Gotta pick up the pace oh god
