New Header

While tinkering with mobile concepts for NG we knew we wanted to streamline the header, since it pushes the content pretty far down. Once we saw the streamlined header, we decided we should just ALWAYS use it!

So here it is, the streamlined header. THOUGHTS???

It's alright. I liked the other look a lot, but I can get used to this. It's not like the old one is going to become completely obsolete and be forgotten, right? It's already on so many shirts and stickers...

It looks neat, but I think it'd be easier to just keep the old one as the main page header. It's great for mobile browsers, but I feel like the bigger header is better for the average computer screen. I don't mind it, and I won't complain if we do get a permanent change, but I'd prefer if we kept the original logo.

I like it mostly due to, like you said, it not pushing the content so far down.

btw, I sent you a PM. Appended to that pm, I would like to add that you should add a paypal option for the newgrounds store. I almost didn't become a supporter because I couldn't pay with paypal.

I recommend this for mobile, but not for desktop. NG's slogan is too hard to remove. Everything by Everyone, people.

Could you have kept the old tank icon but just made it smaller?

I don't know, I just felt that old tank was really symbolic. Like whenever I'd have a chance, I'd take out my keys, that have the NG tank keychain, (which I won in a game jam, that was the first time I ever won anything of value, and was like a highlight of my life) and I'd hold the keychain next to the NG logo.

And that moment would just symbolize how an idea could grow into something and change the world. How what was merely a thought in someone's head is now something I physically hold in my hand, something that is a symbol of creation. An icon of everything by everyone.

Just my thoughts.

Personally I would drop the tank from the logo image, and put it in a div behind the logo area or something, that way on mobile you can just omit it or make it the background of the header. I thin the Newgrounds text logo would be the way to go.

It looks okay, but I prefer the old logo. It looked much nicer. I like it being smaller, but the tankman doesn't look very good.

Oh yeah, totally. "everything by everyone" gave the site a feeling of community, not to mention it sounded really nice and sophisticated. Personally it made me feel more comfy here, and "everything by EVERYONE" is very attractive, that alone made me eager to do stuff.
