Rehashed color-swapped NPCs, monsters, and a non-existent targeting system, AND taking damage for RUNNING of all things made this game terrible beyond belief. Also, the characters were boring and uninteresting, the plot was way too generic, and it was just a mess of a terrible game. It's even worse than the Sims 2 for DS.
That sounds exactly like Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny. Does this game also have hammers and spears that you swing around like a sword?

Virus for the PS1, though I doubt anyone has heard of it.
Just a cheap knockoff of Resident Evil.

There's also the old saying "Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's good." I still like Borderlands 1 and 2 (and especially 2; I can hardly go back into the first one anymore).

Shameless franchise-milking from start to finish. And if that wasn't bad enough, what little original content it brought to the table wasn't even remotely well thought through. Completely destroyed my faith in Square-Enix's ability to make games.
Really? I fucking loved that game, it was nice to take a break from normal Final Fantasy.
Exept the fact that it was hard as hell and the stupid stealth cat stages...

Well, you see, when someone has a negative opinion about something that is generally well liked, they tend to exaggerate how much they actually dislike it. I did that with Skyrim...

007 golden eye reloaded.
First off: you aren't the right james bond.
Second: you don't get the iconic lazer watch for the train escape scene.
yes the game-play is frecking amazing, and there are some scenes that are pretty cool, but its just so wrong. its not james bond. its just a CoD ripoff to get a little bit of extra money. all-in-all its not that bad, but for someone who a\has seen the movie or played the original game; its just blasphemy.

The only game that comes to my mind is Overlord 2, and I don't think it is a horrible game, I just found extremely boring. So it is the worst I can think of, but most likely not the worst game that I've played.

007 racing for PS1. The controls... ugh. The graphics... uuugh. The game was carbage.
Hitman: codename 47. It's unfair, clunky, and there's usually only a pair of solid ways to beat a mission. There's a sheer amount of luck needed to complete a mission, and the map doesn't really help.
Saw. It's ugly, monotonic, it's fighting system and (luckily) AI suck, and it's plot is GARBAGE with a capital G.

I'd have to say Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, which was the first Spyro game created for PlayStation 2. Basically, the geometry of the game just morphed around your camera in a really weird way, the characters were really scary (their eyes bulged out), Spyro moved like an elephant, the camera was too close, and the loading screens were waaaaaaay too long. The level design was incomprehensible, the minigames were nearly impossible. When you talked to a character, they'd look around nervously, as if they were REALLY happy. This is an accurate review for the game.
You can't know what you don't know if you can only use yourself as a reference point.

That's fine and all, but you're unbelievably lucky if you've never in your life played a game you hated more. Have you honestly never played a worse game in your whole life?
I've played so many games that really were actually awful, and weren't just popular games that I didn't like. Friday the Thirteenth for NES, Jaws for NES, Superman 64, 25 to Life, Fight Club, Fighter Maker 2, BMX XXX, etc.

A broken fuck heap of sexual undertones and awful combat. Worst game I've ever played.

Dirge of Cerberus was an OK game, nothing more. It really just could have been so much better. The gunplay is so bland, personally I think the game would have been way better if there was a heavier emphasis on meele combat. understandably Vincent fights with guns but what would have made it work is if they took some notes from Devil May Cry or hell even Kingdom Hearts.

Shaq Fu
my girlfriend wanted me to play it to see how I'll react to it. 10 minutes on an emulator later, I can see why there's public events where people get together and destroy their copy of the game.
Yeah, I don't speak much...

I think the worst video game ever known if not the worst video game period would have to be the video game version of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, why I say this? Because it's one of the big reasons why the great video game crash of 1983 took place, just look up the link and you'll learn why.
