As an album Like Swimming is pretty weak in comparison to any other of their catalogue, but damn, Lilah is an incredible opener.
Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.
You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.

Openers:
Too many to list, as they are often the main piece, the hit single, or just the best track.
Closers:

True, I love how it is an echo of a song that was not even made yet.
The song Like Swimming itself is actually one of my favorite morphine songs along with Slow Numbers and the I Know you parts.
The closer for Massive Attack's Heligoland album, "Atlas Air", is very eerie and well-made.

What are the best openers and closers for any album you've heard? Why do you think so? Let's share wonderful opinions together!
In a class I'm taking, I have to review an album chosen by my professor's TA.
It's pretty fun.
"Who's That?" is a perfect opener for the jazz album by Miles Davis, it's the epitome of jazz itself. The last track called "Flamenco Sketches" is kind of depressing by the way it was played made it perfect as the last track. It does sounds like the story was about to end.

It's funny how that album has an opening and closing song of virtually the same name (but slightly different), and it's also one of my favorites.
Latest song cover: Rock Is Dead.

I Know (Part II) is brilliant. I love all of the parts, but that one stands out for me.~
Slow Numbers I've never been very fond of it. Maybe I should re-listen.
