I know where you're coming from, but with its 3 stages the demo fails to show that there actually is a balance between fast and slow stages: For every main stage (in the full game) there's an unlockable extra challenge stage that is designed around speedrunning entirely, not to mention the musical stages and the about 40 revamped Origins stages you can also unlock.

This games pace is much much slower to take advantage of the gamepad. It's design was dumbed down to accommodate for a gimmick. bullshit.

The stages that are designed around Murphy don't even make up 50% of the game.

Additionally none of the victory themes are catchy or make you feel good. In fact...none of the music is really good. They try to go for the medieval theme but that just sounds boring. Im not excited for it.

Once again, the demo only showcases three stages from world 1 and 2 and I agree that the medieval themes aren't that great. The soundtrack has a greater variety than the demo is showing though. You are right about the victory theme, it felt more special in Origins.

Lol no, the full game has some fast ass levels, not just slowed down ones. Living Dead Party is pretty intense from what I heard, but I still need to unlock that level.

Bummer! I plan on getting it soon. Looks like it has beautiful visuals with great gameplay, but 60 bucks is still pretty steep...

Just finished it. Not as good as Origins. The game feels repetitive and really lazy if I'm honest. The last couple levels feel so horribly tacked on. Seriously, grey boxed in rooms? The guy you have in some levels to assist you by pressing "Y" is so unnecessary. Every time he comes up I roll my eyes because I know the game is about to slow down and become really boring. It's just, meh. Not as creative and fun. I'm a bit angry about the whole thing really.

That is actually one of my favorite levels due to its non-linear design and building up music. The only thing that bothered me is that the three segments were too short and each room would've benefited from more complicated challenges and traps.

I agree, he only makes sense on the Wii U version because the central point of his concept is the Wii U gamepad and asymmetrical multiplayer. Apparently no solution for that could be found for the X-Box/PS3/PC versions. On these platforms he feels horribly tacked on.

It wasn't really made for PS3 and Xbox, which is why Murphy (the guy who helps you) is annoying in the ports. I personally liked the game and found it fun, although it is annoying to complete if you want to find all teensies and get all cups in each level.

This game is so much easier than Rayman Origins. It's still a great game by all means, but doesn't really live up to the standard Origins set, sadly.

Try the invaded levels, they are pretty challenging.

I bought the game last week, after much consideration. I love platformers too much to skip this game. I love the stark contrast to Mario, where this game does nearly everything differently. I got my sister to play with me, and she is fine playing as Murphy, so I don't always have to play as him in those mandatory levels.

Gotta agree with you. I beat the final boss and saw that the livid dead world in Legends was just 8 bit versions of the game's song levels. Bummed me out.

I don't think this was a bad game, but I feel like it could have been so much more.

Although I never played Origins, I really feel that it is worth pointing out that Murphy being controlled by a human player (Wii U and Vita versions) really makes the experience much better. You can communicate together, and get better scores, and people who aren't as skilled can still enjoy the game. And the levels that center around Murphy are either really amazing, like the first level in Fiesta, or slightly dull, like the first level of Olympus Maximus for instance.

That said, they really should have removed Murphy from the ports. It was a game designed for the Wii U touchscreen, and keeping Murphy in shows just how little thought went into the ports. Another frustrating aspect is that you have to play as Murphy in singleplayer on the Wii U, and if you aren't perfect, the onscreen character ignores all the secrets. Good luck getting 100% alone.
