I'm not talking about the ones that are popular and worn out or ones you don't personally consider funny, but the 'outsider art' of memes. I guess they are not technically memes, but they imitate the familiar structure of internet memes.

Poke around google and you'll find tons that are made with images that had absolutely no potential.
yeah memes have generally been devolving since they were started and they became more accessible for a while until everyone could make them and then so many started and tons of inside joke ones started as well and now it's all a giant clusterfuck of people who aren't funny trying to be funny (which it basically was to begin with)
Root around Know Your Meme long enough, and I assure you something worthy of being marked z-grade will pop up eventually.
The thing about a meme is that in the end, it's just an idea. And believe you me, humans are all about bad ideas.

Are you guys familiar with KnowYourMeme? All you have to do is go over to that website and find the stuff listed under the "Deadpooled" entries. In fact, I think there's probably more of those than the confirmed and submitted memes combined. I guess it's like what they say, according to Sturgeon's Law, "90% of everything is crap" or in this case, 50% or 75% counting submitted stuff.
