Honestly, the site needs to start promoting talent and interest in the fine arts. People look at flash, and they look at music and they look at art and all they see are just those: Flash, Music and Art, a dump site for those with little talent to get meager feed back on their shitty computer made creations. And it's oh so much more than that, so much more it's heart breaking to even hear people think of it that way. I'm not saying "only show the good stuff" I'm saying: show case the works that were given clear and present effort regardless of quality. Less spam flashes, less pornographic shit, I don't care if that's how this site started, it shouldn't be where it's going.
Those who make spam, don't try, I've seen and reviewed enough to know that they don't care for this site at all, it's not funny, and it's not cool, they give no effort, they don't give a damn and should be rightfully treated the same way, is that the truth for all? No, spam groups like Clock group and Lock group and others, actually can produce some pretty damn good flash, but it doesn't exactly culture brilliance or advancement as far I have ever seen. They have their top animators and then they have those with no desire to animate except to fill the portal with garbage. Furthermore, porn is OK but it shouldn't be showcased, we want the traffic we get to think we at least respect the site to leave that for those who search for it. Sure some are pretty well made, that's no doubt, but it's just not something you really want to be on the front page when they're are so many other, thoughtfully made and produced flashes that get passed up for tits.
All in all, participation is as important as anything, we eventually would like all "lurkers" to become contributors at some point. I don't have flash, and I can't draw to save my life, but I am a reviewer because I am a writer and I do know how and what makes a flash movie worth watching, I can provide assistance basic assistance on frame rate, lip synch, audio quality, art style, material used, character design, and plot, etc. I contribute in the best way I can, and I hope that at some point, someone else can carry the torch. But if we want those quality kind of users, we need to cultivate a quality environment.
but it's just my opinion so hey.
