If you'd actually read the link you provided, you'd see that the professor in question was suspended from work because of her attempts to convince her students to vote for Obama.

This little line is an insult to conservatives because it makes us look like we are quick to jump into conclusion about Obama or anyone who's a democrat. It was clear that the school punished the teacher for it.

I had a teacher once, a real democrat, but probably would never force the student to take the pledge. I would never want to see that him go because, he was a great teacher, was a biased one, but he kept his history lessons interesting.

I'd just tell my students to vote. If asked, outside of class, maybe I'd tell them who I'd vote for... and maybe I wouldn't. It's none of their business.

Now that that is out of my system, I've never had a teacher who actually expresses political opinions. I had a great Political/Economics teacher in high school who actually was accused of being a liberal/conservative on different days. I think he just liked screwing with people.

Did you forget that the public education will side on the side that looks at the general goods of all people? Do you know why? Because they have more variety of people in the schools that they believe should have a saying to the grand scheme of it all.

Besides, I one time read someone say that traditional conservatism had died out into the ugly monster some times after Ronald Reagan. What do you hear from the Republicans today? They usually try to make policies because "God" desired it and they are also quick on discrediting anyone who's a democrat or of the liberal side. The traditional conservatism would never do that. Traditional conservatism is more liberal than contemporary conservatism.

As college students they should vote for whomever they choose. I did back in the day. Though the biggest problem was that they were forced to pledge their vote to Obama. That is the problem there. At the moment though I am just beating a dead horse so there you go.
