I want to get started in animation, but after a while researching I feel a little bit confused.
Can any of you animators help me out? I would love to know what programs to use for drawing and for putting the flash together.
Links to sites with good advice are welcome.
I just want to know how to get started, anything would be helpful at this point

This is a good site for beginners.

As for the different programs animators use, they tend to use an array of programs from the Adobe creative suit. A lot of animators use Photoshop to paint backgrounds to import into Flash, they will animate in Flash and then some people tend to use After Effects as well if they want a specialised effect in their animation.
