10:00 AM North American.

I'm guessing the 300-350$ range, with a November 20-29 release date. How about you people?

Probably, no one is going to by a $600 console unless their a huge Nintendo fan. As far as I'm concerned I'm not buying a Wii U till the next Smash Brothers.

Lots of rumours saying its November 18th. Price will probably be, like you said, $300ish. Doubt I'll ever get it - I doubt it'll be as succesful as the original Wii unless they heavily market it towards families again.

They threw Luigi's Mansion 2 on the 3DS so there isn't a damn thing that I'd want a Wii-U for.

That was a great post. Right Zach?

I'll actually buy one when the price is down to $150 or so.

Strange how the only people who post in threads like these always tend to be anyone but Nintendo fans.

They are Nintendo fans... just not crazily obsessed. To follow a protocol is to always be skeptical until you got all the facts and the information you might want or need.

About $340 for the basic edition and $400 for the premium version with additional controllers costing about $170 each.

Yea... I'll definitely be passing on that. Aside from that fact that I don't like consoles that go against the traditional style, I also really don't like that the controller (gamepad, whatever they're calling it) is so expensive to replace should it break.

I'm hoping it does move over to other consoles but damn, if there's a reason to pick up a WiiU, it will be for this game. I'll have to wait for the time being and see how the console gets on. I was rather disappointed with the Wii so I'm going to take this one with caution. Certainly not worth picking up on launch date/for Christmas in my view.

I read $300 for the standard edition and $350 for the premium edition on WiiUdaily. I'm betting it's going to be 300-350 euros/pounds in Europe then.

I'm definitely going to wait for a price cut before deciding whether to get one. None of the launch titles really peak my interest anyway, except for maybe Arkham City but I can get that game from Steam as well if I really want to have it.

On a side note: The premium edition kinda looks worth it to me, considering you get 10% discounts on game downloads for the first two years plus four times as much internal storage. You're probably going to need that extra storage at some point anyway, if you use your WiiU frequently.

I watched the preview video for the Wii U today a couple hours ago, and have for the most part liked what I saw.

The Wii U will be released in North America on Sunday November 18th, 2012.
If you live in the U.S., Auz, Black Friday will be right around the corner, thus a significant drop in prices.

And contrary to some possibly popular belief, neither set will retail for $599 U.S. Dollars!!

The basic set will retail for$299 and the deluxe set will retail for $349.

I felt so certain that with all the power that this console has been claimed and/or shown to have that it would be the most expensive console of its generation, but I predict I'm going to be quite wrong when Microsoft and Sony release their next-gen consoles.

I'm excited to hear about things like the Nintendo TV thing and the new IPs from well known publisher/developers like SEGA, EA, and Activision; big name corps like Square-Enix, appeared to have been absent/silent about the possibility of any game, let alone a Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest title coming to the console. I predict that at some point we'll hear our ever delayed titles like Versus XIII and KH 3 will show up on Wii U, perhaps no sooner than 2014.

Seeing the HD graphics that we've long associated with PS3 and Xbox360 appear on a Nintendo console with the demo of Black Ops II, was pretty awesome, but I'll hope that the final product's visuals will be tweaked even further!

According to WiiUDaily Dragon Quest X has been confirmed for the Wii U and will be released somewhere 2013.

Okay, so we now have an official date (November 18 for North America), now all we need is the pricing.

Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive. Not my thing, but apparently people are preordering just for that game.

I'm interested in the premium edition, the memory is significantly better, I won't have to buy Nintendoland for 60$, it's black which is a better colour, discounts for downloadable games, etc...

North America is the first place it is getting released, which is surprising. Yeah, I'm getting it launch day.

zombi u? pikmin 3?

I'd say these two you listed, Nintendoland is the Wii sports of Wii U, and Mario U was apparently a really dumbed down game which felt really easy and geared specifically to multiplayer.

Also, don't forget Lego City Undercover. That legitimately looks awesome.

At $300 for the regular, and an extra $50 for the deluxe edition, I'm not going to bother getting the Wii U at launch. The launch title games usually range from slightly above average to crap for a myriad of reasons, and since I really had no interest in the original Wii, {partly due to the motion controls, and a lot of bad games} I really have my doubts that I'll get it anyways, but if the promise of quality titles coming to the Wii U rings true and soon, then I might change my mind.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Everyone is complaining about 300$ for the price of a regular, which isn't so bad considering a Wii was 280$ in 2006.

Ignore the games for now, and think about the console on its own. If you add all the upgrades from Wii to Wii U, 70$ extra for premium isn't very bad at all, and 300$ is a decent price.

Games will come, and this is no where near as terrible as the 3DS launch (a port being the best game).

Perhaps this has to do with how much the industry likes to ripoff non North American consumers (as this article will attest) and I'm beinf foolish when talking to gamers not from the US (I'm Canadian, so I'm still getting screwed over).

That 30 second trailer looked pretty badass, even if it didnt show any gameplay whatsoever. Im not getting it either, but I can see why people would want it

Oh yeah, definitely getting the deluxe set. $50 more for a game, some stands, and 4x better memory, also a better color? Definitely!

North America is the first place it is getting released, which is surprising. Yeah, I'm getting it launch day.

I'd like to get it launch day, but Im afraid I might not have enough money, which is why I said im probably gonna get it in December. If I do though, definitely getting it launch day

How the fuck is $300 too much for this? Everyone was expecting this to be way more expensive because of the controller and $300 - $350 is way more reasonable than what everyone else expected.
