Dang, scary at first...
What do you think the government is going to use this all for and do you think it will make the future a better place?
âEUoeCan large numbers of autonomously functioning vehicles be reliably deployed in the form of a âEU~swarmâEUTM to carry out a prescribed mission and to respond as a group to high-level management commands? Can such a group successfully function in a potentially hostile environment, without a designated leader, with limited communications between its members, and/or with different and potentially dynamically changing âEUoerolesâEU for its members?âEU
oh and simply cause I have to say it...

They're mounting guns on these soon, you'll see a lot of quadrators patrolling the streets.
Safer or more dangerous? You take your pick.

We can make robots which stabilize themselves in a split second, robots which jump, robots which run 28 mph, cars which drive 300 mph, helicopters/rotor lift vehicles which move in tandem, and unmanned Mach 20 vehicles.
Can we make one small robot which can do all of these things?
We can't even make a big robot who do half of these things. So definitely no small one for now. We'll see in 10 or 20 years.

I bet apple will try, for government pay.
Said robot would probably be extremely flimsy, though. Don't drop THAT robot.

I can. But it would take time and money. Soon =/= now.

I don't know about the formation part, but the US Army already uses a tiny hummingbird sized and shaped spyplane, the Nano Hummingbird.
