You may notice a bit of 'lag' in certain parts. That is something that has recently happen and is in need of fixing (especially when compared to my last attempt at fixing something http://www.fileize.com/view/be5c5b77-ca7/ . The whole problem started with me not knowing how to make the music play with the text, which stopped whenever a text showed up. I can give off a link to how it looked on my very first time if ya want).
critiques are appriciated.
argh, the link didn't come out right and for some reason, I don't know how to edit posts lol

That's because you can't edit posts.
And you don't need to make two threads about this.

I asked the mod if he could move the thread from there to here, but he said a forum mod couldn't do that, and that I would have to make another thread over here (honestly, I saw 'animation' and thought it'd be a good place to put it at, but after posting it in there, I saw there was a 'flash' subgroup and went like "d'oh!"
Sorry about that
You might want to mention that you need to use the SPACEBAR to advance the movie.
Something you may want to take a look at is your text. specifically it's curb stomp not curve stomp. Also some of your commas and other things need to be looked at.
It's a fairly standard fighting sprite movie otherwise. I don't know much on sound manipulation outside of coding sound channels and the like but I get the impression you aren't proficient in as3. and i don't know the other ways to do it.
To disclose my personal bias: I'm sick of seeing Mario sprites slapped on everything. I'd rather see people use that energy to create something new.
That being said. For being a sprite animation it seemed alright.
You really should mention that Space advances it like the previous person said.
The fonts are not pretty. If you're using something other than the plain font I'm seeing, you need to embed it in your project so that people without that font installed can see it. If you are indeed using whatever font I was seeing, change it. It looks really unpolished.
I'd add a little buffer room between the edges of the text and the border of the text box. Otherwise it looks a little off when the border of the box is touching the tops of the letters.

Sorry about not mentioning the spacebar thing. I assumed anyone would know about it, but I guess I should've mentioned it (and worst off, there isn't an edit option for this...)
The text may have some spelling errors. That'll be fixed once I put the finishing touches. For now though, they're just mainly treated as 'fillers.' I wouldn't know what to do in AS3, as I'm currently using Macro 8 (and still learning. lol)
pirateplatypus - I can understand the biasness. I wish I could create something more new (and with Original characters), but currently I don't know anyone who could make/commission sprite sheets and I rather learn the basics/get the swing of things before attempting to.
The font is the default font of the Macro flash 8 program. I know it looks a little 'dull' as well as the textbox itself, but I don't have the proper skill to do anything super fancy atm. Granted, there are some ideas I have to make it look a bit more stylish (like adding a bust picture of each of the characters). I'll be sure to fix the borders once it's finished. I'm pretty new with this thing (this is actually my first serious attempt at it lol)
I'd suggest learning the skills you lack before publishing content. For instance, I'd like to start making games. My AS3 isn't quite where I'd like it to be just yet. Rather than using something like Stencyl/Games Factory, I'm studying my ass off to get my knowledge of AS3 where I want it. Also, I'm artistically challenged. Rather than using pre-made sprites I'm forcing myself to learn to draw better. Sure, it's going to take a lot longer to get around to putting something out, but I'll be much happier with the outcome.

...my only suggestion is to use a different font that actually fits...google Codeman's "Press Start" and "Press Start K" fonts. They rox.
