Actually yes but the opposite, some chick that really liked me told me beforehand how she was planing on losing her virginity that weekend; and how she was scared or some shit. I really didn't know what to tell her besides stay protected.

She has a kid now, but I don't believe it was from that first encounter.

Sounds like a pretty harsh way of rejecting you, if you ask me. I can't think of any other reason why someone would ask you something like that. Unless maybe they were wanting an "oh no, don't do it. I love you" type response.
