I've no idea why i like drawing hair like that, just one of those things i guess.
hoping to obtain some kind of respect as a more skilled "artist" so i thought i'll open up some new skills.
Jamie Hewlett styled etching, with water color. i'm against tracing (as people who follow this thread might already know) so i did it from scratch , I've become decent in creating work in his style as I've researched him for school and it's not actually that difficult, it follows the same kind of laws in manga in my opinion.
i'll probably make more work in his style.
so here's the start of something nice and new. i'll prob change most things a few times, play around with ideas blah blah blah......
ideas as always are welcome, i fancy making something a little difficult. i'm going to go all out like in the wasteland wonders picture i made not so long ago.
I've been away from newgrounds because my computer broke, which explains why I've not finished my current digital painting. anyway now it's finally fixed so i thought i'd post some of my recent research of anatomy which I've made without reference, overall i think it' a good job.

anyway i showed the sketch above to my friends today and they thought it was male, i understand i could make the boobs bigger. but i don't quite see where my mistakes are.
i also could include nipples and the other "part", then tidy up the lines, though i normally don't bother much with that.
i'm probably missing the obvious, could any of you artists advise me a little?
here's my second attempt, i'm making use of every stereotype i can get my hands on for a famine look.
just a side note, i know the pose isn't great but my focus was only the anatomy
few small changes really make the difference

It worked out great!
I've come to accept that i can not achieve certain things without learning the basic concept though a reference. therefor here is one of my rare drawings from reference.
i'm not going to say who she is, i would like people to guess (as an experiment to see if I've got a likeness right)

It's Jessica Alba, right?
Either way, I like this sketch, the shading is pretty good.
you got it right, glad i didn't waste all that time for nothing.

what's the jamie thing?
the robot or pencil drawing?
the eyes and nose can use a little work, i'll come back to the wider lighting after I've finished establishing the body.
here's general idea of what i'm creating, i hope you like it so far. i might make it look more tron like, not sure yet.
when i said contrast i was referring to everything. all of your shaded or colored work has no contrast at all pretty much.

i hear that term a lot, though i'm not really sure what it is. could you elaborate please?
did a quick google search, i think this is what you mean. also i agree it's something I've not noticed to add in properly
a very quick sketch , i had forgotten how big a difference a sharp pencil makes.
happy Christmas to everyone tomorrow
