Even if you draw well, animation is a whole different beast as requires a lot of control. I would say do short clip lessons until you want to do a bigger project. An example if these short clips is a bouncing ball or play with silhouette figures.

It would be best if you look at some tutorials.
Maybe you should look here.

The best way to me is just to jump right in. It can be a little daunting dealing with a new program, but once you figure out the absolute basics, the rest comes fairly naturally.

Tutorials can really help, too. Gamecubicle's tutorials were some of my favourite resources when I was actively animating, although they're probably fairly out of date now.

Just keep at it, would be my advice.

The way I learned was by watching pros do it on livestreams.

Here are some good ones. The second one doesn't contain as much animating as the first and is mostly drawing.

I've never watched people make Flash in a livestream. That sounds like a lot of help. I myself started making Sonic and Shadow cartoons like a lot of other people and then found out about Tweening. The interest won't be there at first, but give it time and you'll find motivation. Check out the NewGrounds tutorials, those were a huge help. Biggest advice I can give you is don't be afraid to explore with everything in Flash, it's a software not a real tool, so you won't break it if you do anything wrong. Good luck!
