...would you buy more games?
I mean different types of games, not just games you know you want but can't afford. I often feel like lots of games that don't get lots of coverage look really interesting, but I'm afraid to spend money on something I can't get a significant amount of money back for it I don't like it.
I can honestly say I wouldn't completely change my habits of buying what I know will be good (as opposed to what looks good) but I would buy games I would usually say "looks decent".

When games are cheap you buy more, and when cheap and on sale you buy even more. Take Steam for example, £2 games you totally end up buying them even if you never actually end up playing them. We all do it even if we like to think we don't, the prospect of something good for cheap always gets us. This explains it from 37:45 Works the same in real life or online.

Games become cheap, that means more money in my pocket. What do I do with the extra cash? More games!

Of course I'd buy more games. Half the reason I never get some of the games I want is because I never have enough money, so I have to save up until I do.
Needless to say, if games were cheaper, i'd definitely have a bigger collection of games

It depends on how much cheaper. If triple A titles were all $5-$10 then I'd definitely buy more. I'd probably buy loads of games that slightly piqued my internet rather than just games that I'm certain I'll enjoy. I haven't bought sleeping dogs because I can't really tell if I'd like it from what I've played of it but if it was $5-$10 then I'd definitely buy it.
But that wouldn't ever happen. If they were a bit higher ($20, which is more realistic) I probably wouldn't buy any more games than I do now.

if games were cheaper developers would actually try to make great games to increase sales.

Probably. It would turn more into buying games that I never really got into that some of my friends did, mainly so that we'd have more stuff in common to play, though.

Hard to say. Recently I've been buying A LOT of older games. By doing so I've played a fair few games this summer and I still have a massive backlog of games that I need to beat. As such, I'm a little worn out with video games for now. So for that reason, I'll say no.
However, if I was still into gaming as much as I used to be then yea, I'd definitely have bought more games if they were cheaper.

No. Cheaper games means expensive DLC.

So many terrible games picked up and played because of cheap prices... "Should I research 'Chuck Rock' first? NO! I'll have to drive all the way back here and somebody else may pick it up! It's a game with a caveman! What could go wrong!?"

Definitely. The only thing stopping me from buying games from non mainstream franchises is my fear the game will be crap. If games went down to only $30 each I'd buy more.

This is why steam has become so popular lately since they run deals all the time. But yes if games were cheaper I would certainly buy more and I approach it the same way as you if In personally think it looks worth a buy I'll do it. Everyones opinion differs so much now in the game industry I.E. The console wars, Whats better Halo or CoD Etc. Etc. The only person who's opinion matters is your own as a gamer.

If the games were cheaper I'd take more chances with less popular titles and I'd also be more inclined to try out genres of games that I generally don't play. Suffice to say that if they were cheaper I'd definitely buy more games and I'd probably have more fun too.

The literal only game I bought on release price is Forza 4. Usually, I get games no more then $40.

If price comes down, the publisher needs to sell more copies to break even. If they need to sell more copies to break even, I would expect that they'd be less likely to take a chance on new developers with original IPs.

If games were cheaper, I be happy, why I would be happy? Because they get more copies sold in the market then the price they have them at for now as most standard copies once they get released are priced around 59.99 dollars.
I'm thinking if only video games as of now where at least 49.99 if not 39.99 per standard copy once brought out to the shelves in the stores people would buy them more often, why 59.99 per copy if the game itself was on a disk? I mean come on man, movies on DVD and Blu-Ray alone only cost from 15 to 30 dollars per standard copy upon release but why do video games on disk cost so much now days?
Several of the reasons why video games cost around 59.99 per standard copy is best described on this link: The Elderly Gamer: Why do Games Cost so Much?
This also brings about a very serious question as well, why are some of the Wii U games for Pre-Order priced up to 99.99 dollars per standard copy??? Do they not know how much the original prices would be or has Nintendo gone way over there heads??? In either case, that's like a price I haven't seen since Phantasy Star IV for the Sega Genesis through the big reason why Phantasy Star IV (and to a lesser extent Final Fantasy VI witch was released as Final Fantasy III in the US as well as Chrono Trigger) was so expansive back in those days was due to the fact it was very high tech of it's period not to mention the extra mega bites back in those days where just very expansive.
I just hope Nintendo dosen't even bother having Wii U games for such a high price but if they do and I do mean if they really do, they without a doubt are asking for a major crash just waiting to take place.
