it depends what you are looking for, there are 2 main types or aspect ratios - 4:3 and 16:9. I think youre refering to the wide screen one.

Best wide screen dimensions are 800x450, 900x600 and 1280x720. I use mainly the 3rd one. Theres also 1920x1080, thats a little bit tricky to render, you would need a really good computer. Ahm, but if you want flash to be stable and that youre animations come out with really good quality, just choose 1280x720, and if you want it to be stable use 900x600.

yes, I was about to link that myself.

One tip I will say though is that when working in Flash try not to use "HD" resolutions such as 1280 x 720 unless you have a very high spec computer. For some reason Flash finds it very hard to run at such resolutions and frame loss/lag is prominent.

I usually just go with 640 x 360 as it's a decent size for NG and assuming you mainly use vector graphics it can easily be exported to video as 720p or even 1080p if you need to.

Exactly, flash draw in vectors so resolution doesn't matter once the aspect ratio is right, as vectors can be scaled up with no loss of quality saying you need to work 720p for good quality videos make no sense as it can be exported at any res and it'll look the same just bigger.
Anyway I work in 800x450 as at 100% zoom its just right and that suits my needs.

1024 x 576 is a middle thing that works too.
