Coming up with a producer name?

I'd like to start uploading some songs to YouTube as I'm starting to dive much more into music producing lately, but I'm having trouble coming up with a name to use. I don't want to use Jurgen, because...well, I don't know, I just don't feel like that's a good name in terms of music.

So I'm looking for information. Tell me, how did you come up with your name/what does it mean to you? I'm really quite curious.

I actually don't remember. I think it may have had something to do with Bossa Nova or something. I can tell you that my name is based off of music at least. So perhaps you should pick a name that sorta hints at your profession?

I picked "BlazingDragon" for the Nintendo Nsider Forums back when I was eleven and the name has stuck ever since. I'm now to the point that I want people to associate my music with my real name and not some magical creature that a fifth grader thought sounded cool. But now I feel like the name is stuck...

My name is Xeko and I pretty much got fucked by my friends and family and it made me be alone for most of my life. So since I've been alone for awhile, "Lone X" felt right lol. Life's a lot better though btw.

Playing Guitar Hero World Tour and the random band name it gave me was Blue Youth so I started using it. I was using Electronic Showroom but I outgrew it in a sense and before that Open Wound but Open Wound is a heavy metal band.

Heh, mine is just my gamertag on Xbox. I honestly think that the name doesn't matter, I mean, just look at "deadmau5". As long as its pronounceable, and not something like "jej$dh:gd!e", you're set.

Well...as far as I can remember, I have several online personas.

But the name I used when I first started producing was "stuntman133". The name kinda came from two things:
The "Stuntman" games, and that I'm a fan of Craig Jones (of Slipknot. His nickname is "133").

As for Yoshiii343, I believed the name came from when I was reading a manga (Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, if I recall). There's a character in the manga whose nickname is Yoshi. I thought, "that's a pretty cool nickname". Bored, I looked up what "Hideyoshi" means in Japanese. Also, 343 is a number I find to be aesthetically pleasing.

Hide = excellence, Yoshi = good luck. I'm not superstitious, but then again, Hide343 doesn't sound very interesting.

How I got the name "TroisNyxEtienne" or even "Troisnyx" calls for a very looooooooooong explanation:

"Trois" is French for 'three'. My first username, "TrinityKHS", never went online. I wanted to keep the "Trinity" bit intact in some way, shape or form for the heavy spiritual connotations in it. It ultimately survived as Trois.
"Nyx" is the name given to the Greek goddess of night, I take it to signify 'darkness'. I took it to mean my personal darkness, as well as the figurative 'darkness' in the world -- hatred, apathy, sorrow etc. -- that needs to be cured. My stage name stops at "Troisnyx", though in some places, I am known as TroisNyxEtienne for this reason:

"Etienne" is the closest first name I got when I reversed my first name (Annette). Some people say that Etienne is a unisex name; I've always known it as the French equivalent of 'Stephen'. Since 2007 I've taken it as homage to St Stephen the martyr.

So here you go, a lowdown on why I'm called Troissdnfnasuhvnnvsogvh.

If you want a meaningful name, then you should probably have it be something related to either your personality, life, or life goals. And dont use the first thing you come up per se. Brainstorm that shit and come up with like 30 names. Then take a week or two to think about which you like best. Maybe even do a little survey or something amongst your friends.

I got the name Retroman from a cartoon character I had conceived in high school. After I gave up on animation and moved to music production, I decided to use the name.

You cac use an uncommon artistic name, such as a Greek/Latin word/phrase, an animal name, etc. Or you can use your real name (initials).

I got my name 'Kopacetic' because my teacher usually say this phase: Cool Cosher Copacetic. I really found the word 'Copacetic' interesting and decided to make that my alias. Although, Copacetic is probably taken, so I just replaced the first letter 'C' with 'K'.
