O rly?
I can spill one thing for sure: it is, in part, inspired by what you hear in the NieR OST.
Everyone who made to the next round, Congratulations!!, and good luck everyone
for the ones who didnt make it in, you fought hard, tried to make the best piece you could possibly make, luckily for everyone, there's always a next year
and now: Blackhole12 vs. WaterFlame
This will be epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Good luck to both of you
And not to forget TroisNyxEtienne
the next round or the one after that (or both), i will give a little prediction of who i think who will win :D

Thank you ^_^
Admittedly, the next round or the one after that will be even more difficult to predict unless the pairings show obvious advantages/disadvantages. There were some pairings that even went that way in Round 1 (samulis v Bosa anyone?). I know we'll have even more of those when this round ends......
Again, at any time, I'll go in with all I have, and make sure I have no regrets insofar as I can finish a song in two weeks.

Man, it's going to take all I've got to try to keep on par with you. I'm throwing everything I know into this round, good luck and I can't wait to hear your track!

I think the same about facing you, considering I've listened to your Round 1 track and liked it a lot. All the best. <3
Update on my reviews!
I've started working my way through the submissions and giving out my reviews, I've done up to Kor-Rune on this convenient, handy list that RampantMusik has provided (Descending), and I'll be doing 4 reviews a night from here on out until I've finished all the round 1 submissions.
So if you're in the acmeDyne vs. Kor-Rune pairing or above on said list, you should already have your review from me, and everyone else can be looking forward to one in the next few days, depending on how far down the list you are.

Basic structure for the submission is done. Vocals and embellishments and some melodic parts left.
For a NGADM submission, this is progressing insanely fast...... o.O
I'd like to thank the judges; you guys put a lot of hard work into constructive and detailed reviews, it really makes a difference when you see what you can improve on as opposed to seeing "cool tunes man" or "bad sound brah". Thank you!
now I automatically win next round rite

Agreed. In particular, I found Buoy and Step's reviews were very helpful for me understanding what I do well and what I need to work on in the future.
Sorry for the really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really late response. I was having too much fun enjoying my first days of college.
So, I didn't cut it, that's a bummer, but I was expecting it a little bit because my time limits made it hard for me to make a good original track and besides, TroisNyxEtienne (I wrote that from the top of my head, I hope it's correct) made an awesome track, so he totally deserves it. Best of luck to you, man!
I still have to read the reviews, but since I'm familiar with the judging system here I'm sure you guys are totally right.

Understandable. Congrats on entering college! :D Hope the next few years are as enjoyable as the first few days. I've always enjoyed Freshers' Week at uni even after not being a fresher.

She, not he.
Thanks, by the way. I do certainly hope to deliver with this round. The Round 2 song is almost done, I can see the completion of it in my head right now, and I can feel the passing of every note.

yeah ofcource, you guys were kinda excluded in my mind. and well, once again i stepped on my own foot and went with a orchestral hybrid. so.. just forget i said anything. haha

Hey, all it remains for you to do is to give your all. So long as you don't have regrets for this round. It's better to try something, something that you may find can even surprise yourself.
I want to see a genuine competition, not people bowing out in fear.

Come on man, where's your competitive spirit? He's thrown the first punch, now you're at an advantage to return with something bigger! Don't make it easy for the judges to decide the victor.
Friends, here is my Round 2 submission.
A song of love. Troisnyx's submission to Round 2 NGADM 2012.

I was wondering where all the activity on this thread had gone ever since Buoy told us he had finished his reviews.

I'm too busy silently weeping out of shame because I can't come up with a track in 2 weeks that can beat something waterflame made in 8 hours.

I think you can. Pour your emotion into the piece. I can tell you one thing for sure: make a piece that spells "you", throw emotion into the mix, and then it doesn't matter where it goes from here. Just be sure you walk either into the next round or out of this tournament with no regrets.

See the thing that gets me is that I have always been utterly terrible at this. My ability to craft an emotional piece rather than simply a catchy one has always depended more on luck than my mood. This has been a source of extreme frustration for me.

Catchy huh? Okay, throw in a different kind of emotion: ZOMG MAKE IT HAPPY! :D Who knows, you could catch listeners with it and give them a big smile.

Tch. Don't give up, man. Try something new! It doesn't have to necessarily be emotional, it doesn't necessarily have to be all flashy and effects and stuff. Just make the effort SHOW. I can't speak for the other judges, but for me, at least - if I can hear effort in a song, that is something that I will definitely factor into how I score it.
Besides - I know you can make something that's freaking amazing.
I think its a sort of ambient DnB slash breakbeat kind of song, so into DnB it goes!
[4:38 PM] Stephan Wells: it sounds terrible. therefore dubstep <--Skype. Yay.
