Because those songs usually have no meaning/story behind it.

Some genres or songs aren't all that "shitty 2deep4u", but they do require several listens and more attention. All of those you mention require that.

I'm not a fan of Dubstep. I can usually put up with various forms of electronica (dance, trance, house, garage and the other sub-genres), but the repetitive "wub-wub-wub" of Dubstep doesn't seem like music, to be honest. It's taking a sound and altering it, but to me, it just makes it noise (unwanted sound)

What do you think of dub, which is one half of the origin story of dubstep? Jamaican origin

Dubstep has as much do with Dub as reggaeton had to do with Reggae.

Yeah but nowadays its just a bastardization of what it used to be. It has none of the original dub influence at all. nu metal is more metal than dubstep is dub, and nu metal isnt metal at all.

yes, because almost every single time i see or hear someone say they hate dubstep, they mention Skrillex or deadmau5. for every good artist of any genre, there are 5 that are shit. it's a fact, look it up.

i love the abrasiveness of "brostep" and harder dubstep. it's hard for people to get past that, much like breakcore. they hear something unpleasant and don't like it, and are 2 steps away from telling kids to get off their damn lawn.

but that's just me. you can continue to be a jaded dnb fan. i'll continue to listen to everything i like.

When it comes to "posts" it is not the music itself that bothers me. Only the tag of the genre attatched to it.

I'm tentative to say that I hate any genre because chances are if I looked long enough, I would find an artist that I liked. The only two that would come close, I suppose, would be emo/screamo and death metal. I have yet to find an artist in either of those genres that I liked or could even tolerate for more than a short period of time. But hey, I'm not going to say that they're objectively bad; they're just not my thing.

Other than that, there are parts of genres that I hate, such as commercial iterations of genres that are otherwise good such as R&B, rap, and country. Then there's that specific section of the electronica and idie rock genres wherein all the artists sound exactly the same.

Doesn't do it for me. As I said, it's not that I think it's bad quality or poorly done; it's just not for me. I can't stand long periods of that screaming not because it's objectively bad but because I personally don't like it. Same thing applies to death metal. If you gave the same songs without the vocals, I'd probably like them.

I feel ashamed because I don't like jazz or blues.

I like music that kind of mixes elements of them, but straight up jazz, straight up blues? Nah. Jazz-pop, hell yeah. Blues rock, sure.

I am so ashamed of my weakness for catchy hooks and choruses.

Vocals have an emo feel. I dunno really. They claim to be infuenced by Owls and American Football, so probably yes.

a good number of emo bands have clean vocals

Personally, I would classify that more as just alternative rock than emo but hey, maybe I'm wrong. A lot of rock genres tend to blur together at the edges so I suppose it's better to judge each band individually instead of by genre label. I just know the sounds I like and the sounds I don't. I mostly mean the screamo part of the emo genre so maybe I just need to watch my semantics.

American Football was an emo band from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, active from 1997 to 2000

You probably got that from wikipedia. Don't trust that stuff, anyone can write in there whatever they want to. Compare the sound of the band with Rites Of Spring first.

I don't think you'll ever find a band doing Screamo playing full instrumental songs. It's just not the classic sound and doesn't give the songs the real passion and just isn't as attractive. That being said, look up the song by Envy called Evidence. That's one of the songs that has the same meaning, though it isn't really considered Screamo or Emo at all.
