Flash 8 Problem? Aug. 16th, 2012 @ 06:14 PM Reply

Basically ive been working on a big flash animation but every time i try and publish it as a flash movie so i can upload on here it comes up with this message,

'Error creating Flash movie. There was not enough memory available'

Please can anyone help with this?

Well obviously there wasn't enough memory available, how much memory does your computer have?

We're talking about RAM here, I guess the easiest way to check is:

1. Open the run box (Windows key + R)
2. Type dxdiag and press enter
3. Read the "Memory: X" entry on the list that appears.

Actually I just read up on it, it looks Flash only uses a little bit of memory to export a movie and there's not a way I can see to increase it. I think the best solution would to break your movie in to smaller pieces. Or upgrade your flash version to at least CS3, Flash 8 is about 7 years old at this point. :/

There's deffo no way of increasing the virtual memory for flash 8 then?

increase virtual RAM, with a usb stick for example. Or install linux + wine, it is said to have better memory management.

What would i do with the usb? Just stick it in and i'll be able to publish my movie?
