Anyone seen this before? Do you have any thoughts on it? I'm curious to see if anyone of you guys think the points it brings up are legit or if I'm just looking into it too much...

search your feelings you know them to be true!!!
Because the best way to solve issues is to abandon them. Yes, I read the article, it's all grieving about the internet, and spot on, I might add. Especially with how every discussion devolves into a religious debate. Heck, I don't think I've ever seen a Forum that discussed anything pertaining to education. You'd think with so many teenagers running around the web like myself, we'd be all over that.
I usually frequent the VG and collaboration Forums. If you find me anywhere else, I'm lost and can't find my way back.
I mean, for christs sake. Read the original post of this topic and explain to me how it's about to have a third page of responses. No evidence to support the claim, no discussion question such as "would you support a president if he was against/for gay marraige?", if I were a moderator I would lock it immediately.

I'll respond to the loser internet tween who wrote this article in a way he'll understand:
First world problems.
God forbid the election has a few dark sides. The election is NOT about the election. It's about the 4 years afterward. Nobody will fucking care about Romney's tax returns after election day. Nobody will--- check that. Nobody should care about Obama's religion after election day.
The reason to vote is the policy differences. There are clear social and financial differences between both of the candidate's platforms (even if you're one of those stupid people who think they're exactly the same). Perhaps you should get your fat ass off of WoW and pay attention, instead of basing your decision whether or not to vote on your Facebook angst.
Everybody should vote, unless you would vote for Obama, then don't vote.
Just kiddng.

While an interesting article, this seems a tad too personal in order for something to apply to everyone. There are people who are going to vote and if they choose the worst candidate, then things are going to get bad. Or better yet, just do what Jesse Ventura did and try to support a third party. If you complain about those parties not having a bunch of power, then vote for them anyway. You can at least say you voted and give credit to the middle man!
You know the world's gone crazy when the best rapper's a white guy and the best golfer's a black guy - Chris Rock
It seems it only applies if you either support republican candidates or democrat candidates. Any other party and you have a chance to be listened.
Time spent reading that article > time spent voting
CONCLUSION: Being convinced not to vote is more work than just fucking voting.
Everybody should vote, it is an American privilege.

Maybe it was in the 1800's and i'm guessing
that your making a joke by calling it a privilege instead of a right but the fact is that voting does not matter its a joke within itself
Cracked.com articles are fucking terrible; I felt as if this one could have been written by a thirteen-year-old.
I honestly don't think there's much to discuss, I was expecting more than a rant about the political posts that the author's parents make on Facebook. These are definitely not five reasons not to vote.

Why would anyone want to go to a political forum and discuss politics (and essentially change people's minds to believe in what they believe/learn about things they don't know about in politics) when they are convinced that voting is a waste of time?
One reason not to vote: your vote doesn't matter. All are inferior before the Electoral College.
like my grandfather said if you don't vote you don't earn the right to bitch.

You have pointed out that the people tend to vote for stupid things and that I agree with. What I don't agree with is you saying that we should not vote at all. The people just need to think more rationally when they vote and not fall for every bullshit thing that Fox or any other news station says.
Also we all know Obama is not a Muslim and that he was really born in this country. Even if he was a Muslim so what, Muslim does not immediately mean religious terrorist and as for Romney so what if he is a Mormon. The candidates religion should be irreverent. So lets stop this nonsense and focus on the important issues like the economy and who you think will be the best for the job as president.
Vote Mitt Romney! Democrats suck because they do whatever to get a vote by helping gays and Mexicans cross the boarder.
CWBJONES
1. Every party that matters is backed by stuff you'd rather not know about.
2. The illusion of stuff getting done is just propagated further.
3. Whatever IS done, will most likely be reversed at some point by the opposition. Bandage on a bullet wound.
4. Every vote is a vote ultimately against the citizenry because it legitimizes continued statism.
5. At the end of the day, politics still sucks.
There, 5 better reasons not to vote.

I recently watched a George Carlin clip .... where he said "anyone who votes shouldn't be allowed to complain"
That when the only choices are the corrupt, the brainless, or the self serving ... you don't really have a choice, so why should you vote for any of them ?
If you do, you have no right to complain, if they do nothing for the country except, fuck up, take care of themselves or take care of their cronies ! You helped get them elected YOU FUCKING VOTED FOR THEM !
So the only one you can blame is yourself.
WHen you think about it .... makes a lot of sense !
Those who have only the religious opinions of others in their head & worship them. Have no room for their own thoughts & no room to contemplate anyone elses ideas either-More

I was just skimming this forum, and I really felt that this comment deserved a response. So here goes: Your criteria for indicating that Democrats "suck" is entirely irrelevant, since ALL politicians will do "whatever" to get a vote; Mitt himself has swapped positions numerous times presumably to appeal to a more conservative bias. Furthermore, your tone indicates that you seem to consider "gays and Mexicans" as something akin to inferior beings. While I myself am not either gay or mexican, I find this idea abhorrent on a deeply personal level, because in the US, we claim to treat all individuals not based on their preferences or race, but, to pull a quote from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, "on the content of their character." There is nothing inherently wrong with either gays or mexicans. Furthermore, to continue on the "mexicans" track I have going, in 1986 Ronald Reagan's Republicans introduced a bill to give amnesty to all illegal immigrants, and yes, that includes the mexicans. I don't mean to bash you or your views at all, but I feel that those particular sentiments are divisive, and as a devoted centrist, I believe that divisive ideas should be addressed. I'm not sure yet that I would vote for either Republicans or Democrats, simply because right now US politics are centered around stigmatizing the other party. As evidence, I refer you to the birth certificate scandal and the "Is Obama a Muslim?" scandal. If I have read too much into your statements, I apologize, and would welcome a response correcting my views.
by taking the time to read my signature, you are only wasting energy that could be used for something more fun. MuaHaHaHaHa, the energy parasite has done it again!

You still have the right to bitch since your tax money supports the fools.

No you don't. If you pay taxes and don't make a single effort to dictate where they go, not only have you lost your right to complain, you're stupid.
Id rather vote because then I can cancel out the stupidity of a single person.

Yes you do as they are taken by force however no one forces you to vote....besides its not like the people who vote dictate where they go anyways. Look at Obamacare was supposed to help people but turned into a sellout for the insurance cos

Obamacare....first off thanks to the people who put obama pack in office for four more years we are going to have government run healthcare (code name) Obamacare. Isnt that wonderfull? I dont think soooooo and the second thing is that if you are an american you have the right to say whatever you want regardless if you've voted or not
