Thx LilJim, I was hoping you'd find a way to get rid of that thing. It wasn't even working for alot of people. Hopefully we'll never have to switch back to it.

You guys should really just hide the authors batting average until the authors flash comes out of judgement.

That would be a great way to protect new authors.

Thanks Wade, and thanks to liljim as well!
Nice to see everything is back to normal!
Only odd thing I noticed is it seem to have counted my votes that didn't go through yesterday.
I just hope no one finds a way around this!

If it needs to go back to the pop up, just make it another page on the site, not a popup.

Also, could you consider using just numeric, rather than alphanumeric, cos it's easier to type

Cheers

Try getting window.opener()/opener(), window.close()/close() to behave in Firefox/Firebird in the same way as they did when implemented into earlier versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer/most other browsers that support javascript 1.1.

So what did you do to fix it?
I'll understand if the answer may compromise the security, I was just wondering as I'm teaching myself PHP and designing my own page.

I don't know but "chrono trigger X" was just submitted by a NEW author and is getting blammed even though it's decent. So either whatever it is isn't working, or they're just voting normally instead of using a program. Well I still appreciat you guys trying to stop this BS. I geuss there's only so much you can do though.

Technically true, but i don't see what you mean by the window.close() object - the only difference is that in Firefox/Mozilla (gekko engine) it will let you close pop-ups, but not full windows with all bars - which kind of makes sense really.

Just ban people who use it. Is there any way to tell? You could track how many points we get, and if we're clicking on the vote link or something.

People whose points are going up without the link clicking stats showing up gets automatically banned. Hmm?

I'm so glad it's back to normal... I think it's better this way, I just think it was a total hassle with the code bars...

I'm thinking that they successfully blocked it but that the ones who used to use it are just clicking the votes based on batting average instead of auto-voting that way.

But then someloser would make a flash 20 minutes long that was super annoying and dumb, just to make us watch it.

Yay! Well I'm sure as hell this will work better for people. (since everyone who votes will be used to the good ol' voting system) Its also a good idea for people who have those programs that block out pop-ups. (Whereas the voting system included one) It might be a good idea to look at the pros and cons of your new ideas, or poll newgrounds users if they like it or not.
