The day women stop leaving crusty period blood on toilet seats is the day men start taking their bathroom-etiquette bullshit seriously.

I believe this has happened a total of one time.

I think I speak for all men when I say that the reason we don't put the lid down is that we're afraid mud wasps will get in there and build a nest.

Because I have never in my life sat on a toilet without looking to see if the seat was down, even if I was about to blow a hole in the wall for the amount of pressure in my stomach.

I figure, if I can do it when under pressure, why can't everyone else who just has to sit down and fart? I've got shit to do, and I've wasted enough time shaking the piss off my dick. Look before you leap.

I don't know what kind of nasty-ass bathroom you use but poop fumes don't constantly emanate out of my toilet.

Women are dirtier than men when it comes to bathroom cleanliness.
I manage to keep a bathroom clean, and don't leave blood/tampons everywhere.

If they've already flushed, then putting the lid down isn't going to change how much stank is coming from the toilet. If there's nothing in it, there's nothing to give off smells so there's no point in putting the lid down.

It's a convenience to the next one to use it. It's a bother to open the lid and close it again, as to making the next one to use it be bothered because he/she would have to open it. Such a waste of energy and time.

I think the usual problem is the used tampons in the toilet.

Yeah but what if the next person wants to use the toilet with the lid closed. They would have to close it. Can't please everyone.

That person must have a lot of patience.

It doesn't take effort to open/close the lid.

Let me tell you a little story of why I don't do that .
Not that I didn't always leave the seat up once upon a time......
but I got married & my wife constantly tried to get me to put the seat down, & for marital harmony I did make an effort & about half the time or so I remembered to put it down, & when I didn't I would get a reminder, no fight ....but a comment about my forgetfulness.

Then one day when our daughter was around 1 & a half to 2 years old & we were trying to toilet train her... I got up in the middle of the night to have a piss & I left the lid up.

A short time later, I awoke to piercing screams of my daughter, in the toilet with the seat & lid attempting to close on top of her, her little legs , arms & head sticking out of the toilet her bum in the water & screaming a terrified shrieking sound !

I'm not sure how far back that put her toilet training...but let us say it was a long time before she would go near a toilet unescorted, particularly at night & I suppose the whole episode traumatised both of us, because to this day, many years later, I still always check no matter what toilet I use & make sure the seat is down.

True Story...... the end.

i believe "odor" depends on whether or not they've flushed, not on whether the toilet seat is up or not. putting the toilet seat down isn't going to make a floating chud smell any better. there is absolutely no good reason for putting the toilet seat down except to be nice to her.

My toilet seat is always closed when not being used. I have closed it for as long as I can remember, which albeit not very long since I don't make a point to remember how I leave toilet seats. In some ways I am OCD and I like the toilet seat to be closed or it doesn't feel right.

Men enjoy having the seat up. If there are no women around, we can do whatever we please.

It's so much easier living with other guys. When I lived at home, even though the only female in the house was my mom (me, my dad, and 2 older brothers), I had to put it down or else my mom would bitch about it. I don't get what's the big deal about leaving it up, really.

You're asking yurgenburgen what kind of woman does something gross like that?

I don't think he knows anyone who doesn't have something weird or freaky or gross going on with them, because he lives in an awesomely disturbing world.

Why? It just saves time. Also, does it really matter that much? Because if we thought it was important to put the seat down, we probably would.

I don't do that

I wouldn't call myself a neat and clean person though my house is pretty messy and I don't take care of my body

I eat lots of junk food, I have some pimples, I don't groom my hair a lot and I sometimes don't shave for an extra amount of days and it looks ridiculous

sometimes I skip brushing my teeth (mostly weekends nd holidays nd shit) or don't shower and I masturbate and don't wash my hands

I will fix all or most of those things one day

but hey at least I'm not overweight like some of you

That can't because when the toilet is not in use it should closed.
