Only me?

Nope. I don't have a problem being in an elevator with other people.
No, but I usually take the stairs anyway, unless I'm carrying a fuck-ton or I'm going up several stories (5+) because frankly I don't mind the exercise, and I usually have to wait longer for the elevator anyway than it takes to go up a couple levels on the stairs.
I jump up and down in elevators to make them shake a lot and people get scared. It replaces the awkward with fear

I looked at your profile picture, which in turn makes me picture you in this scenario as a little fat kid.
It make me laugh.

That silence is kinda meant to be there, i actually enjoy that, gives me time to think on......whatever.
I do that all the time for that and the fact taking the stairs can be faster that the elevator itself majority of the time.
I respond to every message!

I hope I meet you one day in an elevator
I rarely take the elevator because I like climbing stairs. It's good for cardio and for health in general. So unless there's 7 or more stairs to climb, I don't mind catching the stairs. I actually took the stairs down the Empire States Building once. Not up, though, lol.
It depends on how high your going. More than ten floors, is a long walk.

I used to be like that, and generally wanting to avoid awkward presences, until I realized that these moments are only awkward because you think they are. It's like, you can simply not let their awkward presence affect you whatsoever.
Now I could be just standing there in the elevator with a dumb smile on my face, not caring who's around. And just about it this way: it's empowering to you because while the others are feeling nervous and awkward, you're not feeling anything.
Well I take the stairs because it's usually quicker and nobody is in or near the stairwell. But that's an added bonus. Oh yeah my main reason, elevators make me feel sick. Motion balh.

I never do it with elevators. But I tend to do it at other times.

I prefer stairs because there is always a chance of you being stuck with a crying baby in the elevator.

The silence during elevator rides aren't awkward. Awkward silences are when you should be talking something but aren't. There is no need to talk with complete strangers in the elevator.
Stairs are faster anyways, unless of course you have luggage.
Or you need to reach 20 or so stories.

I never really find it all that awkward unless im going from the top to the bottom of a place, when it'll actually take a few mins
No I don't you antisocial piece of dog shit. You are far, far away from engaging in any personal acquaintances with that attitude and you certainly deserve to die for not understanding how to act correctly among other individuals of the human race.
Im claustrophobic and anti-social and no I would never do this.

I had a job on the 10th floor of a building once. With over 15 floors in the building, it was common for the two elevators at the base to fill up quickly, and usually above weight capacity to the point where the elevator would start beeping and refuse to move.
Needless to say, I took the stairs and marveled in my victory.
