Now, I'm not usually one for generalizations, disliking things because I've only heard a bit of it, or hating other peoples opinions but I've always had an issue with the genre we call Country Music.
Just to throw my tastes out there, so you can rip them apart, I listen to MF Doom, Tupac, Pink Floyd, Neutral Milk Hotel, DeadMau5, Gorillaz, Outkast, Muse, J Dilla, Kendrick Lamar, Jimmy Hendrix, etc.
So I'm pretty open to music, and I take a lot of recommendations, it's just Country that bothers me.
Now, people around here, they listen to it. Maybe for ambiance, or maybe because they like it.
To me though, from what I've head for the past years in my life. For the entirety of it has been this.
-Reinforcement of the "Dixie" way
-Getting drunk with your friends and having a good time
-Sometimes Feminine reinforcement, for the ladies
-Covers of rock songs, to make them country
-Enforcement of how America is so great, and how it's the only way.
Now, for the cover one. I could think of Rascal Flatts covering up the Tom Cochrane song "Life is a Highway."
Now, I was wondering what you guys thought about it, I maybe asking the wrong people, but opinions are welcome. As standard.
