I think that's something he made up to tell the press. However, the Mars Volta's album "Bedlam in Goliath" was written based on the band's experiences with a Ouija board, the sound engineer had a nervous breakdown and all kinds of mad shit was happening to them.

It's fun. It actually spells out stuff that's not nonsense more than you'd think. I'm pretty sure it needs at least two people though, so if you have no friends it might not be useful. I don't think I need to say that all that stuff about spirits haunting you for using it is just superstition. Maybe it you believe something's going to haunt you then you'll feel like something is, kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I got a sort of cheesy board game type of Ouija board, but it works. I think it would be cooler to have a more traditional looking one though. If you have a little bit of money to spend and you're bored then it's definitely worth a try. It won't tell you the meaning of life or anything, but it's entertaining.
