No reentering your password, it's already long enough to vote. Plus, voting restrictions are IP and cookie based as well as username based.

Maybe what is possible is having a code request not always, but say always the first time you vote every day, and after that with a random chance of 10-20% (but if you failed to enter the code once you are asked for it, you will be asked for it every time you vote until you get it right). That will not annoy people as they only have to enter the code once in a while, but will stop bots dead before they cast more then a few votes.

Yep. Like I said, it's easier for me to type out a jumble of 10+ letters than it is to type mixed numbers/letters, even as few as 4 or 5 or 6 of them.

If I didn't know Chromius had changed his name to -Pain- and -Maladroit- the past few months, this most recent name change of yours would really be irritating, BTW. Are you TRYING to impersonate him, or are you just using his name now that he isn't and he's cool with it? O_o I wish you'd just go back to teh soulrifter or niteshade but oh wells.

It's not about inconveniencing noobs on a single movie by single movie basis. It's about making sure that no one can have a program running that goes to each new UJ movie and votes based on the author's batting average (or lack thereof) to get points. If they want to do that, they'll have to do it manually.

We aren't talking about SUBMISSIONS autovoting. That was put to rest months ago with the new 3rd-party flash servername and all. Although I suppose this would ensure that doesn't happen either.

We're talking about USERS who are using autovote programs to gain points/effect movie scores unfairly, not submitters submitting malicious code in their flashes.

I tried voting on some submissions today. I punched in the code, hit enter, and an infinate amount of pop-ups launch at my surprised ass. I tried hittin alt ctrl del to close the application and open my internet browser fails so that they will all close, but nver the less that failed so I had to manually turn off my computer to prevent a damn crash. To put a long story short.

Voting confirmation is a royal pain.

Good to know that the random thing is in hexadecimal code; the letter "O" is never a letter.

There seems to be no winning on this matter. I only started getting into blams and protects after 800 XP, as a means of increasing my voting power. I never used an autoblammer, or any other program. Instead, I voted on 20 to 50 movies every day. I honestly believe that I voted based on my opinion--and while others will disagree with me, I'm just doing my duty as a fan of NG.

i can still vote on dozens of movies with this system. However, I do not like the idea that I could be suspect because I vote so often!

The main problem is-- If a person has enough dedication to BLAM every movie, they'll do it, no matter what NG does to stop them. All the voter recognition does is annoy me.

If this is the only option, then that's the was it is. But I suspect that determining who voted what is the only real answer to a VOTE ZERO dillemia

You know, with all this security goin now, you would think that if I went though all that effort to give crap a zero, they really did deserve that zero. Now, I have to run over to my Macintosh to vote since my IE craps out on me. It's strange though, I'm on Safari, I still get the error message, but the vote still gets through, anyone else?

But the movie is spawned by clicks, so they can be watched but this new security thing isn't recognized the same way...
It's still a great thing to have the security codes!

A good pop-up blocker won't block windows spawned by clicks. The only pop-up blockers this will cause problems with are the bad ones, which block all new windows. But if people had those, they wouldn't be able to watch the movies after clicking the "Watch This Movie" image.

Wade, I love ya.......but this new system sucks out loud and for a living! There has got to be an easier way to vote on NG entries without having to type in a random code everytime! Search my IP address for verification! I have nothing to hide! This takes too long and it detracts from the fun of voting on Flash! Trust me! I love this site! I just wish I could vote as easily as I used to!!!

You do not NEED to tell the difference between o and 0 because of this fact.

As many i dislike the new thing. It will only be a mather of time befor these clowns with no live find a new way to auto vote. And the other 99% of the poeple that do vote fiarly have the most trouble with this new "savior of the voting".

This new vote system is very bad, it wont work with Firefox...
Please make it compatible by using Flash directly in the viewing page like this :

It's just an idea and that will resolve compatibility problems...
