If you are really looking for a game that resembles Heroes of Might and Magic, then you should definitely try this one.

This a browser turn based strategy game. It's entire gameplay is inspired from Heroes of Might and Magic. Even the creatures and their abilities along with the combat system is identical. Just try it and you would love it for sure :)

So I've been wondering if there's any good game thats really similar to Heroes of Might and Magic III?

Please don't say Civ, I don't like it.
I have never played that game, but in terms of turn based strategy... POKEMON!!!!!! :DDD

lol pokemon?.. i've played might and magic dont you dare request pokemon to that dude as a good crossover from might and magic.

i would say the recent age of empires. its not turn based but it has the strategy

Final Fantasy Tactics. No, I am not talking about its story-retarded cousin Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (whose story sucks, by the way), I'm talkin' the original, hard-as-hell, playstation-one-tastic games that left me thinking about the plot long after I beat the game.

It's just...How do I put it? It's like taking everything you hated about religion, put it into some of gaming's most obscure, but iconic villains, make the battles fast-paced, throw in a lot of heavy philosophical questions, and you have a game that will leave you thinking about the way politics are, and how religion affects the human condition. The Final Fantasy series, including its spin-offs seem to have this idea, that, no matter what happens, one cannot be ruled by ethereal beings, as humanity will come to reason and strike down its ethereal oppressors. This theme is present in Final Fantasy VI, when Kefka becomes a god and seeks to destroy the world, with only the cast of heroes standing in his way.

This theme is present in Final Fantasy X, where you're tasked with destroying a religious institution that has long prevented the advancement of human technology, just so it could keep its followers.

Tactics One (the original) brings up religion in a way that makes it directly impact a set of characters' actions, motives and goals. What ultimately ends up happening is a clash of ideologies; one that seeks to protect the people through the abandonment of the royalty, another with the abandonment of religion, another that seeks to oppress the people, only obtaining power for powers' sake, and another that seeks to take the throne to reunite a once broken nation.

All-in-all, it's a game that is heavy built upon philosophy in its subject matter, and it takes these things and applies directly into its world, giving a much greater sense of urgency and reality, as well as hearkening back to the politics of medieval times.

In conclusion, this is a strategy game that will leave you thinking, both in plot and gameplay mechanics.
