I was trying to hold it in my mind when, like-- ten seconds later an Ice Cream Truck rolls up behind me blaring something like this.

I almost scannered out trying to hold on, but:
Poof-- the idea vanished like a fart in a tornado.

Anyway-- I've always heard that if you can't recall a melody later on, it probably wasn't that great after all.

Yeah fyi I do listen to the submissions as soon as they come in because I couldn't possibly do it as thoroughly as I'm planning if I didn't get familiar with the tunes, but don't worry I'll download them all after the deadline and listen to them like hell :)

I won't put him down as DQ'ed on my news post just yet, even though the evidence has been presented; we should hear what (if anything) he has to say in his defense.

Is it just a thematic similarity, or is it blatantly a midi/tracker rip? Because there have been times that I've written wholly original works, then later noticed similarities to music I've heard in the past. (In film and TV, it's called "Producer's Memory," and it happens when a pitch is given and at some point in the future the producer unwittingly makes suggestions on another project that takes ideas from the older pitch.)
