I'm just curious. I'm currently making a flash movie
(well, hopefully that is, still in the post-production so to speak )
Anyway, like I said, I'm curious to know how some of you, both
new and old artists draw your characters etc.

Is it by mouse or are you using a drawing tablet and so on...
(don't know many other ways though, hehe)

Some information might be of help to other newcomers who
haven't really worked in flash before, but got the talent to draw.

End of post

I'm not exactly the best artist there is, but I use flash with snap to objects(most of the time) and line tools, then i bend and add shadows to create a character.

A combonation of Tablet and Mouse, using either the Brush tool on the smallest brush size or pencil tool with a line around 2.... units thick.

I personally use flash for all of my animation drawings but in the future I plan to use photoshop as well.

I draw everything with a mouse. It is annoying at times and you can't really get your lines perfectly where you want them to but that is why flash is such a great program, you can drag and bend your lines to exactly how you like. Really usful when creating detailed drawings.

Good luck with your flash!

Yes, I use Painter 7 for the coloring of my art, however, I still like the old pencil-paper-eraser for drawing the lineart.

i get a pen and draw on my LCD screen, ever hoping flash mx absorbs the ink into the work area and creates a graphic.

asking a person "HOW DO YOU DRAW?"
is like asking a person "HOW DO YOU BREATHE?"

It's not that stupid actually and since there are people
who have given their answer to this thread, I think they
all agree one way or another. =)

I think it's interesting at least and that's one of the reasons
I created the thread.

I didn't ask if people CAN draw, I asked how they did it.
One other reason is to get some tips on how to do it for example.

I've already got one good tip and that is to use Painter 7.
Quit bashing my thread now :P

For Godness' sake.
Isn't it quite obvious he was asking HOW to do it with flash?! I personally think i can draw something, though i don't have a clue of how to do that in Flash. Actually, I'm glad I found this topic, cuz I was ashamed of asking, as I didn't know if this was a too n00bie question... looks like, thank God, it isn't.

I can draw in paper, but I honestly doubt I could do it with flash... I draw with the rubber!! Has anyone felt this?

I use mouse, there are things i hate about drawing with mouse and things i think it makes easier(in terms of flash, i don't have anything else with the kinda editing options...) but yea, i think my regular drawing has gotten better since i started doodling on the computer, you learn more about what you're drawing if that makes sence. But my regular artist skills are to sub-par for my computer art to look good.

I use the mouse and the LINE, CUBE & CIRCLE are my main tools

I never use the paintbrush. I try not to use the pencil tool.

no not that simple.
there are techniques to drawing. maybe that's why there are hundreds of books out there with the subject of illustration techniques.

art can be as technical as any other science.
