Use new .fla in older versions? 2012-07-24 20:55:55 Reply

I've recently hooked up with another artist and I hope to work with him on projects. However the file I was sent is a .fla made in Flash Professional CS5.5, while I have CS5 it refuses to open the file.
I really need to access this file ASAP (1-2 days) and I'm at a total loss with what to do. Is there really a way for higher Flash versions to work with older ones? Or is this one of the unfortunate realities with the program that just need to be lived with?

Ask them to save it as a cs5 file. Any flash can be saved as one version earlier, as far as I know.
