I read in this news article on the internet that apparently the guy played World of Warcraft and his grades started dropping and he was going to get evicted from his apartment, those things are actually pretty related to each other

its easy to understand that a smart shy Christian boy could get so detached from reality by being obsessed by Rpg video games that he could do a monsterous act like this.

I hope this oily subhuman son of a bitch is put to death and he fries in hell.

Another thing too is that I think the media is going to act fucking retarded over this and they are going to start saying that he had a bad upbringing when he actually didn't.

They will also start blaming guns when guns had nothing to do with it. If someone had armed themselves with an open carried gun when going to watch the movies then James Holmes would have been shot easily and things would have been okay. People forget that guns in capable hands are great and are a great tool that have done more good for the world than bad. I'm gonna get a gun in a few years time and I'm going to use it for GOOD reasons not bad.

As for video games I really don't know what to say, I really want to say that they should ban video games but at the same time I know it brings a lot of entertainment to people so I guess I'm a bit of a bind about this.

In fact just yesterday I got some PM's from some people and I'm going to really start cleaning up my act on this forum.

No I am serious, unless a video game is educational there is absolutely no point to it.

Sure emotionally video games are great but logically they aren't.

Just think about it. Come on, you CANNOT deny that video games aren't really that worthwhile and you'd rather be doing shit outside with people and socializing and doing sports or at least watching sports with friends maybe even build houses whilst talking and chilling with friends. Its far more rewarding.

I will admit I stepped out of line with that statement a bit, I know video games won't just be ridden of straight away. But its the same with cigarettes.

Cigarettes do more harm than good but we can still wish that they could go away.

I personally don't play video games myself but I have tried Minecraft, Mario and a lot of other 2d games and I've obviously played flash games on Newgrounds so I know very much what they are like and I personally am just not into them. I think this is because I've spent a lot of time doing more rewarding fun things and I know the truth so no offense if you play video games yourself I'm sure to YOU its the funnest and maybe rewarding thing you can do idk

First you are caught up in a media spin.

Second the open carry policy has been debated over and over again, and has proved that while humans are inherently good, we will make terible decisions, and putting that much power in the hand of a person about to make a very bad decision can be a very bad decision.

Third, to dehumanize the person in question, is to take a far more right wing approach to the idea that this or that is bad and should be banished or killed.
Try to look deeper then what the media is telling you about this and if you could find out that maybe he has been bullied at school, his teacher being the main bully, and that he just found out that his dream job and life he wants, he will have to get from the teacher that will bully him for the next 3 years, maybe he finally had enough of the idiots in the world and every once in a while when he had enough of them, he would buy a part or a item to help him do this, meaning that society is to blame.
The REAL possibilities are endless but the media has chosen to report on the very common and easily debatable idea that video games or loud music or fast cars or guns or clothing or a group of friends are to blame for this.

Fourth video games are entertainment, and sadly our entire gamer generation has taken this to a level beyond entertainment, and called it a need, and have been unable to realize that they need to put it down if they want to achieve what they desire.

Fifth, when you want to post something, go back and read former posts in the search bar, there are answers out there, if you look for them instead of thinking that you are the first to think these ideas.

Sixth, relating to the fifth, you need to get back to a open mind, not simply demand, attack or question things... think that you are not right, and then seek as many answers as posible, and you will be enlightened for it.

Thank you. At some point he was going to do something like this, in fact, I'd go as far to say that video games actually helped stop him from doing this. Everyone needs an outlet for their problems. For a lot of pedophiles, loli and shota or whatever help them have an outlet but aren't necessarily infringing on any laws. It's the same with a violent person, violent video games help them live out their "fantasies" in a legal way. These are mentally sick people who need heavy therapy and separation from society.

There should be stricter gun laws (more testing before you get a license), videogames are fine as they are, upbringing may or may not have an influence but the fact is the removal of games, guns, or a better upbringing would not have stopped the colorado shooter from eventually acting out violently.

I just hope the author is trolling, if not, he's doing it wrong ! someone already made a commentary about such event, it's called Bowling for Columbine. If you don't want to see it, then I will short it up in a few lines :
- It talks about the reasons of the Columbine's High School massacre,
- USA is the country in wich guns are litterally presented to the population (you can get rifles freely from banks)
- Some says VIDEO GAMES or METAL are the causes, but aren't their people who plays video games and/or listen to metal music in other countries ?
(I am playing video games alot, I listen to metal, I live in France but I didn't killed random people in front of a cinema !)
