I don't like much any dubstep, and I can't do any legwork, because I start thinking about how I could be listening to Scorn or Kevin Martin's projects.

I like the really deep, bass-heavy mechanical dubstep with no lyrics.
I have no idea what the fuck it's called but it's the only dubstep I'll listen to.

I generally don't like very bassy or gritty dubstep, I like light varieties of dubstep sometimes.

Well, I don't really have a favorite, but my favorite moment in dubstep history is before they existed.

Thank you, at least this isn't that god-awful brostep that seems to be so popular.

Ginger pubes is sick, love the beat. Vampire Dub by Doctor P is also good, like the reggae type stuff thats going on in it.

If you want bassy shit, go for Skrillex.
If not, go for deadmau5 or Mt Eden Dubstep or something
When I say "sort of dubstep" I meant that there are different dubstep sub-groups, like drumstep and chillstep, and all that sort of stuff. You know what I mean.
I do try and find other dubstep artitsts, but I am new to dubstep in general; Skrillex being the first dubstep I had ever heard.

Yeah, Going Quantum's mixes are epic. Although there is some better, harder stuff on his podcasts, ep.8 remains one of my fav's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r1sKSRxsnQ&list=PL193F6B0897 366E29&index=39&feature=plpp_video

and yes, these are both considered dubstep
The former is very, very nice to listen to. A beat that keeps things fresh and anthemic without coming across as artificial.
Burial is always credited with creating some of the best soundscapes. Most of the credit is all well and due, but some of his music is just a little... boring, even for a fan of ambient music. Too relaxed for a life that can't stand the total reduction of tempo, and too sinister to endure even after Portishead's luxurious work.
Hm.. It's difficult to think of anything purely within the genre boundaries that I would actively listen to. 16Bit's and Amon Tobin's renditions of Noisia's Machinegun come to mind, but not much else beyond that.

I bet most people who listen to dubstep dont even know what dub is. I bet very few of you in here who listen to dubstep can tell me what it is without looking it up or asking someone.

I don't listen to much of either, but Audio Active is pretty good from what I've heard. And this is a nice, chill dub track. It's good for when I'm taking a nap.
