Lmao, what a fuckin' clown.

If more people had guns in a dark, smoke- and gas-filled theater, with mass panic already ensuing, an even larger number would have died.

Man I think we can all expect movie theatres to now have the equal security of an airport.

I think it's illegal to yell "FIRE" in a theater. There should be restrictions.

yeah it is (hehe) but im talking about CCL or wearing costumes or Metal detectors or Facility Policies

you know the simple shit?

I'm willing to bet that sometime later, some asshole is going to be inspired by this incident and will try to pull a similar stunt.
How and why? I wouldn't know, but bastards like the guy responsible for this, and any would-be imitators need to be put out of their misery, for all of our sake.

Thanks, Chdonga, for the awesome sig.

I guess the premiere made the 3D too powerful. Imagine the response from the smoke grenade.

So apparently he bought all the guns legally. I'm not sure how much that matters, considering this guy either has a PhD or was working on it. I mean really, not your typical suspect. And Colorado of all places? I'm not going to be able to wrap my head around this one. And I enjoy following criminal cases, trying to figure out the criminal mind, but this is just all sorts of weird.

Where the shit did he even get tear gas?

Wait a minute, this actually happened uncomfortably close to where I live...

Why haven't I heard about this yet?!

Anyway, that's pretty messed up. The sickest part is that the killer's only motive is probably just fun. Yeah, they said they "haven't identified a motive yet" but with almost a hundred casualties there doesn't seem to be any particular target in mind, and the fact that he even had to do the whole thing in theme with the movie just goes to show that this guy probably just did it for his own entertainment. That's creepy.

This is clearly the fault of legally purchased guns and happens every day.

Skimmed through the article, luckily I just moved out of Colorado. I would've went to that theater to see it.

But what I want to know is, the article said a 3 month old was among some of the people in the hospital. What was a 3 month old doing there?

Is your daughter dead? Are you in shock? frustrated?

He and his wife held each other's hands as they rushed out of the theater. 'There was a moment where I lost her hand, but I grabbed her shirt. We didn't let go of each other.'

That's so adorable!

And I'm Illinois and I've passed through Aurora many times-- Heck, I've probably seen a movie at that theater sometime in my life.

That's a haunting thought.

Not surprised. They wanted to interview me too. I've had calls from CNN, Nancy Grace, People Magazine, BBC, ABC Nightline, a Tennessee radio station, and someone in Toronto all wanting interviews. CNN has used two quotes from my iReport as their primary headline as well, including "The gunshots just kept coming" and now "The longest minute of my life"

Do you plan on going back to a movie theater anytime soon?

Certainly not that one, that is if it ever opens again. I do plan on going back to a theater, because I'm not going to let that fear consume me, and the odds of this kind of thing happening to me again are pretty ridiculously low.
Probably not in the immediate future though.

Will you ever see The Dark Knight Rises in it's entirety (In theater or at home?)?

Yes, I'm really sad that I couldn't finish watching it and I plan to as soon as I can.

Do you plan on seeing a therapist?

Incidentally, I'm already seeing one so I will bring it up with him next time I see him.

To clarify: There's a lot of reports saying that the gunman started shooting during an action gunfight scene in the movie, which is only true for the movie next door which started 5 minutes earlier. Our film was in a scene where Bruce and Alfred are talking in the Bat Cave, and it was rather calm. On a side note, nobody turned the lights on or stopped the movie during all this; it was still playing when I ran out.

Also: This photo can't be any more fake. Man, so fake. [/sarcasm] Turns out EVERYONE is using MY ticket stub as their news image, which is flattering I guess. I'm getting called out as a fake on my article because people don't think it's the original source when it is.

He was in the front, near the screen to the right. We were sitting in the very back row in the middle, in the largest theater. So we were pretty far away, relatively. I only had time to worry about my wife, otherwise it was a "get the hell out" scenario. I had to push a guy that wasn't moving because he was in shock. I also heard a woman begging for people to help her daughter, but had no time to stop.

Funny. I tend to think "Diddy Kong Racing".

But with that said, this is a tragedy and I sincerely hope a similar incident like this doesn't happen by a copycat attacker. That would probably make things ten times worse.

I'm glad you and your wife made it out and I hope yous are both okay after all this.

Can't imagine what all the families must be going through right now. Has anyone found out what the shooter's motivation was? Didn't he compare himself to the Joker or something like that?

Well Nata, were all just glad that your OK and you got out of there alive. I'm also really surprised at how much your willing to share with us and thank you, it's kind of convenient having a Newgrounds member be part of something so huge at the moment. I pray that you and were wife will be able to overcome this although it may take some time but you seem like a tough guy. You can bet you'll get lots of publicity for the time being especially depending on what the aftermath of this mass shooting ends up being. I'm glad to hear your still just as anxious to see The Dark Knight Rises and you'll still have your wife beside you to be able to watch it. I think you along with a few other survivors have been injecting courage into the millions of news viewers because the demand to go see the film has now risen apparently. Anyways, take care man within due time everything will start to get back on course once we learn theatres decisions security wise after this shooting.

To the victims, R.I.P fellow Batman lovers
