No one saw this coming. So popular flash-artist Egoraptor and Youtube gamer celebrity JonTronShow have a gaming channel dedicated to doing co-commentaries on retro games. It's not bad, actually. If you like let's plays, then you might possibly like this.

I am hoping Egoraptor doesn't ruin it by using old jokes like that. Getting a cheap laugh isn't what makes such videos interesting to watch. In fact they put me off watching.

I am tempted to watch this due to JonTron, he is entertaining, Egoraptor however isn't someone who I would want to be sitting down listening to if he is going to act like he does in his movies, that gets annoying fast and isn't something that will fit commentary. Hopefully he is smart enough to know not to, but I guess I will see.

Ok so far from what I have seen I enjoy the channel despite what I initially feared. It is good to know Egoraptor isn't being his 'over the top' acting like he does for his animations. So far I would say it is a good channel and I think worth watching, but isn't as good as the "two best friends play" channel which is similar which I prefer. I would say both are worth the watch though.

It is good to actually be able to eat my words for once without being correct, which is a bad thing since I am always pessimistic about everything.

Conclusion: Worth the occasional watch at least, depends on the games they do though.

I was reminded of 2BFP when I saw this. But there's less screaming in this, and you get the full experience.

I was reminded of 2BFP when I saw this. But there's less screaming in this, and you get the full experience.

They also have their own channel not just the series they do with Machina. In their own channel they do a full playthrough of games, so far they have done Resident Evil 2, Silent Hill Downpour and currently doing Final Fight Streetwise. Here is their youtube channel imo they are the most entertaining Let's Player / Commentators I know off. The Resident Evil 2 videos are my personal favourite. They are less shouty in these games. It is nice to have both these and their more intensive individual episodes.

I watched the Kirby video and gotta say, it was okay. Usually I find Jontron's and Egoraptor's humor way too forced, but this felt more genuine.

Indeed, this is the type of commentary I was hoping for when I looked at the videos. Doing single videos works with being loud etc. but if doing a let's play commentary with the full game you need to be more calm and collective so it doesn't get irritating. Sure it might not be as amusing etc. if you are just looking at single videos but when looking at full games....yea.

Glad to add them to the list of good dual commentators on youtube. The others I know of being TBF and Yahtzee. I wish Yahtzee made more let's plays but at least they are good when they come.

I agree. I was hoping it wouldn't just be them shoving their 'personality' all over the place rather than actually talking about something interesting, or bouncing ideas off each other. In a good let's play, the game should always be the focus, not just who is doing it. It seems a lot of popular youtube LPers just take popular games then scream over it in a oh so hilarious fashion.

But hey, why should I care so much, it's just some videos on the internet of people talking over games LOL
