On Mandatory Fun Day, participating teams have certain themes they get to pick, along with theme song. For example, my friend's team is going as Doctor Who characters; The Doctor, Amy Pond, River Song, Weeping Angels and one of the creepy gasmask people.
One group, however, has gone too far.
They're going as memes. They call themselves 'Trolling'. They have shirts with rage faces on. They have a name tag e.g. LOL or NO.
Their theme song? Trololol.
This is actually really, really sad. And really pathetic. It's not too bad online. But these are just regular idiots trying to be cool by copying now-dead memes.
Thoughts?
I think I have depression because of these idiots...
I know a kid who always wore a "U MAD" hat, I didn't ever mention it, but it's just silly.
Where's the pickle?

It looks like they achieved their goal if you are this pissed about it.
That was a great post. Right Zach?

Please god tell me you didn't associate with this person.

Those trolls probably don't know that the OP is mad so they really haven't achieved their goal.
Trolls want satisfaction.
Even the most righteous, logically sound individuals are subject to poor reasoning skills and deluded mindsets.
Yo bro, check it out, I got some wheat-O's and some cream cheese, you know what im talkin' about?

Except they have no idea what trolling is. That's literally the one thing that's bothering me the most. The fact that they do not get what trolling is.

I will vomit if I ever see a furry or a brony in real life.
Putting back fun in funeral.

No, I used to talk to his twin brother, who didn't have the hat.

Not seeing how that's worse than dressing up as a time traveler from a tv show.

You've got a point there
Where's the pickle?
I remember when I was yelling at my internet-addicted cousin to stop making internet references for five minutes (he literally cannot go that long without quoting a meme) and he said, "Challenge accepted."
If I offer to help you in a post, PM me to get it. I often forget to revisit threads.

Internet memes don't belong in general.
Just make sure that everyone in your school pees on them while they wear those shirts. Trolls hate piss. All of them.

That's debatable.
As we integrate more with technology, the line between "internet things" and regular things gets blurred and even entirely vanishes.
unfortunately this means that this sort of phenomena won't go away anytime soon.
“You only live twice: Once when you're born, and once when you look death in the face.”
That was a lot like my school's mandatory fun day except instead of trolling they shot up the school.
Oh god, I hate how people at my school call rage faces "troll faces".I remember I was eavesdropping a conversation between 2 of my classmates and they were using memes and saying le.
This is my badly made signature.

Damn! I wanted to dress up as the Tenth Doctor for Halloween...
Latest song cover: Rock Is Dead.

Thats one of the most pathetic things i have ever heard OP.
I once dressed up like Spiderman and went around being a pedophile.
Whether you like it or not, the internet is an extension of real life.
By your logic people shouldn't dress up as video game, movie, TV, or book characters either.

I didnt get butthurt and I dont see what that has to do with this, its just funny when someone assumes all of 4chan is /b/. Why are you so butthurt yourself anyway?
At 7/11/12 07:19 PM, Natick wrote: I'm not butthurt. If you piled together all of the fucks I don't give when it comes to people blurting out memes irl, you'd be able to reach of the universe and come back. Twice. I find it funny how I'm the only butthurt guy and no one else who has replied to this thread with, "this is the worst thing ive ever seen and these people should die" is.
But you did bash everyone on a thread about 4chan once and if that wasn't sheer anal anger issues then I'd like to be educated on what is :)
If youre going to troll and make stuff up atleast type something that makes sense or at least enrages me. If you are being serious, which I doubt, then youre probably mad.

These boards are in english.
For our school's Sports Day we had to make our own shirts per team with our own designs and team colours. Teams were split according to classes they've got. I was in the Maths class.
The amount of unoriginality in the shirts was horrendous. Nearly each one had an unrelated Internet meme on it. I was one of the three teams (out of 10) which didn't have a meme thankfully, but they just got a Google image and slapped it onto a blue shirt, which was stupid. The only actual original one was the Arts class one (big surprise).
Yeah, I agree that Internet memes should remain on the Internet.

That reminds me of some copypasta about this guy playing another guy at 40k who would shout "Blood for the blood god" whenever he attacked since he was playing chaos. Its so sad its untrue.
I've got something sadder:
A couple months ago I was visiting the campus of the best university in my country. During the visit, I noticed something: ALL of the university's graduates were wearing a shirt FILLED with memes. It was the theme of their graduation. Internet memes.
And I DO mean filled, if they had one more meme in those shirts they would be wearing 9gag.
I told one of them how pathetic they looked to anyone with a brain. He responded "U MAD BRO?"
I stared at him for a second, shook my head and left.
