Well you may or may not have noticed how women in comercials have been seen being superior to men and having to help or save them. This has been reinforced by our society and started by all the feminists getting to vote. We men have been upstaged in school. The boys are not being taught to be responsible or any real moral values. Please post your opinion on this matter as i feel it is very serious.
o yeah, its so terrible in the world now that women have the same rights as us, and compete with us on a fair level. what ever happened to the good old days when they used to be mindless servants used only for sex, food, and cleaning.
Women are entitled to equal rights, but they should also be entitled to equal responsibilities, for example, they should be able to be drafted, and be forced to accept all the other responsibilities of being a citizen. Women are equal, but I get pissed about how instead of trying to solve problems the SOMETIMES will just sit around and blame men. Women make up 51% of the population, I don't see why they feel so oppressed.
oh wah, women are protrayed as smarter than men in commercials. considering women typically ear 76% of what their male counterparts do for the same job, i hardly think that's compensation for gender inequallity in the system.
anyhoo, about the draft, i am against it for both sexes, however the point i will make here is that the military denies women the oppurtunity to serve in combat positions, regardless of qualification, so there's no point in drafting them. don't bring up inequalities against men which are rooted in graver inequalities against women. the draft have been instituted TWICE in this century, physically and mentally qualified women are denied positions and training in the armed services every day.
sorry forgot to say that i am saying this from a christian stand point. It says the men are supposed to be the leaders in the family and all decisions must be made by the Husban or father. I should have forseen this would turn into a flam war. I should have said only christians or religous people on it but oh well tooo late

it also says that you should stone just about every single person to death, so obviously taking the bible word-for-word no longer applies to society. i'm so sick of you fucking stoneage christian literalists who think that society must adhere to the fucking bible. do you know why the bible says that men should make the decisions? because at the time thats what appealed to the majority of people. so either stone every disobedient child and raped woman to death or shut the fuck up.

Oh well, even when I would have concidered myself a christian I still believed that men and women were equal. Most religions have a bad reputation of descriminating against people, and most of them deserve the reputation that they have.
Can you answer me a question though? Can you tell me a legitimat reason that men and women are not equal, and why women should not be able to take on leadership positions without using the bible as a referance?

Just for your own benefit, maybe you would like to research the amount of women opposed to men in the following jobs.
* High Powered Government Jobs
* Congress
* CEO's of top Companies (Fortune 500's, etc.)
*Anything else you like.

Hm, I agree with you. Women are better at a lot of things, then men are. The reason we are better? Our judgement is not fogged by the overactive sex drive that men have. Men's each movement and desision is somehow driven by his sex drive. Or so I have come to believe.
Its refreshing that women are getting equal rights as men.

But seriously, I really like the idea of equal rights. I think that the only caveats are that we need to make sure that we work to overcome victimization mentalities where instead of making progress with the advantages we give to offset discrimination, they instead give up when things get tough without thinking that it's often tough for white males as well. The other thing is that when it comes to law enforcement, it is extremely important to be color/gender blind, even if it's because of cultural unfairness that the person developed to be the person they are today. It's just no good for justice if we are lenient to people who have had disadvantaged childhoods. (I'm not saying that we DO do this, but I think that it's a good idea that we DON'T do this)
The only thing that I see as a big problem where men are getting stomped on by women is sexual harassment and other sex laws. Courts tend to favor the woman to an extreme degree, this is also true when a woman claims that she's been raped. I don't think we should let rapists off, but the laws regarding rape are pretty easy to manipulate. Did you know that if you have even ONE drink you are incapable of giving consent? That's right, in all those movies where the man and woman have a glass of champagne before going to 'bed' the man is a RAPIST! You could also say that the woman is a rapist, but I doubt a court would convict her.
Being fair isn't easy, sometimes fair isn't as clear cut as it seems. Sometimes the bad guy has to win if we want to be fair, but if we fail to be fair, that makes us the bad guy.
God this is such a sharp and backlash subject that I won't post much just e-mail me if you want my opion just for kicks). Personally I think most women are smarter than men and are more responsible (men stop whining you know its true)! If it is turning into a matriarchal society I am against that because I believe in total equal rights. Though being used as sex machines does have MAJOR perks :)
I just love to hear women say that chivalry is dead, and that men treat women with less respect in today's society. Guess what... you asked for it! Not only that, but women are favored for being hired in certain companies simply because of past inequality.
What does this movement of change bring for us men? You will still lose your children to your ex in a custody dispute, still be passed over for a promotion by a woman just as competent as you, or even less so, and still have to hear those shitty Hillary Duff songs on the radio (that last one may not affect all of you, granted)!

Its getting horriable. Im all for equal rights but its getting out of hand. Take for example a promotion in a job, If its between a guy and a girl and the guy wins, she'll likly complain about his getting the job because his a guy. But in the reverse the guys complant wouldnt even be noticed. Its getting really sad

I think commercials feature stereotypical images of both men and women. There are the minivan commercials where the mom is changing the seats and the dad can't even get the stroller folded, as if to say "Dads are incompetant, but see! Our seats are so easy even a woman can change them." In another car commercial, a little girl says "before you know it, I'll be walking down the aisle" implying that all little girls dream of growing up and planning their fantasy wedding to a prince. I like hot chicks as much as the next person, but beer commercials could stand to be a little more creative, don't you think? Choosy "moms" choose Jiff and Momma's got the magic of Clorox, but where are the dads who make lunches and do laundry, like my father did for me when I was little? Most commercials are geared toward selling a specific product to a certain group of people and will most likely follow the stereotypes and trends of the time, because they know what sells.

Not to be sexist, but more realist, women will never surpass men. Im not saying this because I think women are weak and inferior. Im saying this because historically, men have always been the rulers, and theyr'e not ready to give it up. Just look at the world leaders; thew overwhelming majority are men.
Yes, women are getting more and more powerful, but they'll never get more power then men. Of course, this dosen't mean that will never rival them. Its perfectly plausible that women will some day become total equals to men. As for my personnal opinion, I think that women will become equals very soon, and I have absolutely no problem with that.

I don't feel threatened by women in the least bit. There is still gender inequality, but with the continuing progress made in women's rights, within our lifetimes women will approach equality.
