I just read all 17 pages of this thread. I rock.
As much as I love you all for proving you slobbering cunts can actually work as a coherent community from time to time, there is one little question I'm pondering about the target company: Are they really based in Florida?
If they have an actual shop there, then that makes things real easy, but if not (like if they just do mail orders over the phone / internet), how do we know the company's address is actually a real address and not some random mailbox they rented out from China or some shit?
I dunno if the same legal loopholes exist in America (and I'm not visiting FADED's website for answers, out of not wanting to give them the web traffic and / or not having any reason to trust whatever it says on the matter), but here in the UK, lots of Chinese fakers register postal addresses that are literally just postboxes as business locations, with the actual factories being in fuck-knows-where with little to no traceability.
Why's this important? Legal proceedings are notoriously hard to pursue across borders, especially when it comes to copyright infringement. And even if this company gets shut down, if the real source of the plagiarism isn't gotten rid of, they can (and usually do) just become a 'phoenix company', i.e: a company which will declare bankruptcy in response to legal action, dissolve, and then re-appear under a different name not 6 weeks later. The impossibilities involved in tracing overseas companies who do this make any attempt to shut them down for good futile without the help of the government of the nation they're actually in... which is rarely guaranteed.
I'll be happy to join you all in pissing in the face of another worthless company if and when I see some proof that this isn't just going to turn into an endless game of sweatshop whack-a-mole.
But either way, this shit was a fun read from start to finish, so props to everyone who made it what it is. Including the tards and obvious alts. :D
