It's not that, it's just we don't have enough to make a submittable game and the programmers sleeping. We're planning to submit it for robot day

I don't think we are going to make it in time, the art got a bit over-scoped. We will definitely finish it but I don't think we are going to finish tonight.

It's all about the pacing. I said the same thing before. It was a hellish experience but seeing people playing and enjoying your game, and seeing it spread in front of hundreds of thousands of eyeballs across the internet makes it worth it.

Yep. As long as everyone is dedicated, you never know what will be accomplished. It seems like a lot of time, but it goes by so fast, it isn't as easy as one would think.

The satisfaction of seeing what you can do in a short timeframe, and seeing people play it it wonderful. It's something great to brag about... "Hey, I made this game in 3 days ^_^"

I WAS actually gonna make sound effects, but I ended up making more music for the gameplay part.

Meanwhile, everyone's done but me D:
I'm trying to keep up with the animator ("you animate it, i'll make it work" - maybe that was the wrong choice of words)
and I keep changing little things along the way (this doesn't look good, etc)

hmm... I'll get it done, but I may have to cut out more than I had planned...

Same situation here man, our programmer is almost dead x_x

Also the other artist done his part and he now left us, I have to do all this additional ideas programmer has, we're fucked :c

I'm having issues finding a "sweet spot" for player/enemy interaction (because the entire battle system works on distance and rotation)

I'm not sure how math works in Flash, but if it is anything like real world math, try using polar coordinates. It makes rotation calculations a snap.

Haha, that's what i'm doing - this is the second time i've tried to use rotation in flash, and this time it's pretty much acting like a base calculation rather than just a visual element. Last time I didn't get enough time to look at exactly what attan2 does. In fact, I still haven't had time yet :/

this definitely is not the prettiest piece of code in the engine

Yeah, the fact that flash uses rotation from 180 to -180 messes a lot of stuff up. It's most noticeable if you want something to rotate to an angle with easing instead of snapping to the angle, you'll find that as you pass the 0/180 mark your movieclip will rotate the other, longer way instead of the shorter way.

Someone suggested simply adding 180 to all angles and doing all calculations so things would be simpler. I'll see if I can dig up that thread.
