A lot of people, especially convicted felons, get teardrop tattoos. It's not really a defining characteristic. I feel like there's going to be a few false arrests because of this case before (and if) they even catch the actual criminal. Not to mention the false arrests could fuck some people over due to a possible criminal record.

Horrible defining characteristic, considering a lot of people with criminal records will have it, and therefore be easy to blame the crime on.

That's what I was thinking. I guess when they narrow it down enough the victims could probably identify him, but there's gonna be a whole lot of suspects. Especially since it's L.A.

But it's not like there a "Teardrop Tattoo Regulation Committee" out there, making sure that only murderers get the teardrop tattoo.

I'm no murderer, but if I needed a quick and easy way to make myself appear more dangerous and capable of murder, 5 minutes in the tattoo parlor wouldn't be a bad idea.
