I agree with you on the current voting system. Everyday the same people come back over and over to vote x on my movie, slowly bringing it down...but as far as me not going to go there? Get fucking real, you'll never EVER have a #1 movie. So let's see it punk...get started.

Oh, the movie has to be at number 1 now? On this site? Bah, that means I'd have to put useless violence and/or sex scenes in it, and then change my name since I've made so many enemies, and then kiss up to the Fulps and everyone else here.

It looks like that number one thing went to your head, though, which makes it all the more interesting. Okay, then, I'll get started on a movie next week. Let's see how high I can get with all of that going against me AND with no front page coverage, AND without blood and/or Knuckles sex in the movie.

I love a good challenge.

VG parodies, in my humble opinion, do have their rightful place in NG. For all those who claim to do better, more quickly.. put your money where your mouth is.. or shut the fuck up.

majin, you don't know how correct you are. Old skool video games are a part of all our childhood memories. The main reason i do the movies I do is for the nostalgic factor....even Tom thinks so, look at the top title bar where it says home , features, etc. VG inspired? Yes, and the collections series in features is taking off. My #1 VG movie is also proof that VG parodies are here to stay, stolen sprites? Maybe, but it's all about the presentation. Plus 60% of the sprites in my movie I created myself by editing. Word.

The thing is that Randy's the best at what he does, so it's kinda hard to beat the best.

At 8/31/01 10:40 AM, arrogancy wrote: Mario vs. Sonic was decent for a video game flash. However, responding to an earlier post, it is NOT that hard to make a sprite-based flash. Frame by frame is easy since you're editing pixels instead of a drawing (zoom!), and the rest is all motion tweening.

The hardest part it ripping the sprites. You have cut out each (and every) pixel individually and erase all the surroundings. Sounds like a pain in the ass to me.

Heroes of Cybertron is not number one because some of the art is uproportional, there is an overuse of gradients, and some of the other drawings are not that good at all. It's like Brutality - nice effort, but lacking in the art department.

I myself though the art was nicely done, and since when are gradents a bad thing?

Fuck her Gently was stolen, so placing it at number one would be useless.

I agree with you here. Not only has "Fuck her Gently" been stolen, it's been stolen TWICE!!!

Corporate Puppet, Xiao Xiao 3 and 4, and Mini Putt should be at the top. Your video game stuff is cute, but shouldn't be number one from a technical or artistic standpoint. However, you have inspired me to do a Mario vs. Sonic now, since it was so well liked.

First of all, the Xiao Xiao movies are stolen... all of them! With the exception of the fake Xiao Xiao 5. Mini Put is okay, but it's not the best of the best. Corperate Puppet was amazing visually, so it definitly deserves a spot in the top. But Mario vs. Sonic should be up there simply for effort! Not only did it take hard work, I really quite enjoyed it!

Of course, mine will be hand drawn. :P

It's your movie, so you can do whatever you want with it...

Ripping sprites aren't that hard. When you trace bitmap, flash automatically distinguishes objects by color. Unlike with, pictures, sprites are usually easy to distinguish from the backgrounds, as they have a natural border.

An overuse of gradients is one of the biggest mistakes that young/beginner flash artists make. It's just ugly, actually.

I'm personally glad that a deserving movie is in the number one spot now.

Let me correct you young one, "ripping sprites ISN'T that hard", bad grammar little boy. The trace bitmap feature doesn't work well with sprites, it gives them an outlined, cut-up look. Using transparent gifs is the best way to go. Also you bitch about vg flash using excessive motion tweening. What the fuck was your rpg movie but motion tweened drawings throughout? Why don't you use all this wasted effort talking about stupid shit on something else? Like making the world a better place? haha. But I do agree "from my room" is the best thing on NG. Now get off it man.

Ooh, grammar correction - the lamest retort in any argument that has nothing to do with spelling and/or grammar.

My "RPG movie" was almost ALL motion tweens - I agree, but unlike you - I didn't brag about it when it was on the top 50. I don't even like that movie. And I did that thing eons ago and spent approximately 2 days on it. Tom just happened to notice it recently and put it on the front page.

The trace bitmap works well with sprites, depending on your settings and the background behind the sprite when you capture it. You should try playing with it a bit - it may save you some time on your animations.

It's too bad that two people with so much talent are feuding as such.. * Was made aware of Arrogancy's a little while back* Not to say rivalry isn't stimulating and all..

Are you kidding? Rivalry is great! It's what drives things to become bigger and better!

Well, I said a week...I guess I'd better submit my movie today...
